Job Description:

APA Services is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Aircraft Parts Painter to join our team in Carrollton, TX. The Aircraft Parts Painter will be responsible for preparing and applying paint to composite aerospace components, ensuring a high-quality finish that meets industry standards and customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience in painting aircraft parts, a strong understanding of paint application techniques, and a commitment to precision and quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare composite aerospace components for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming surfaces.
Apply paint, primer, and coatings using spray guns, brushes, and other application methods.
Mix and match paint colors to achieve desired finishes and adhere to customer specifications.
Inspect painted parts for quality, ensuring even coverage, proper adhesion, and absence of defects.
Perform touch-ups and rework on painted components as needed.
Maintain and clean painting equipment, booths, and work areas to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations related to paint and chemical handling.
Document work performed and maintain accurate records of paint usage and batch numbers.
Collaborate with production and quality control teams to address and resolve painting issues.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance painting processes and product quality.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in painting or coatings preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in painting aircraft parts or similar components.
Proficiency in using spray guns, brushes, and other painting equipment.
Strong knowledge of paint types, mixing ratios, and application techniques.
Familiarity with industry standards and specifications for aerospace coatings.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality finishes.
Ability to read and interpret work instructions, specifications, and safety guidelines.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Physical ability to lift and handle large parts, stand for extended periods, and work in a physically demanding environment.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as needed.
