Job Description:

Position: Warehouse Associate

 

Dept: Operations

Reports To: Head of Warehouse

                                                                                                         Purpose/Description:

This position is responsible for functional work integrity and standards, ensuring product quality and Inventory control within the VAS Warehouse Operations.

 

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities:

  • Follows the methods, processes and procedures enabling efficient and accurate receipts and storage of products to include inspection, documentation and Inventory Control on all types of material in accordance with established “6S”, ISO / ASA 100 and AS9120 procedures.
  • Process daily inspections and receipts to include RMAs in warehouse management system or customers systems as required.
  • Prepares and endorses material certification, in accordance with established quality standards.
  • Ability to process all types of incoming and outgoing transactions in the VAS system or customers systems as required
  • Ensure all customer requirements are followed
  • Support/Perform QMS audits.
  • Provides training support to the staff
  • Prevent the occurrence of product nonconformity
  • Interact with various departments in a professional manner
  • Ability to package per ATA 300 goods for storage and shipment
  • Ability to package goods for Hazardous shipment per DOT CFR49 / ICARO
  • Unload/Load supplies and material from vehicles as required
  • Perform Stock control functions to include product stocking and cycle counts and order retrials
  • Processing of all scrap material as designated by customer requirements
  • Assist in the NCO process
  • Suggest enhancements or changes to procedures and processes to gain efficiencies in all areas of responsibilities
  • Facilitates and drives area KPI’s and “ 6S” initiatives with a focus on continual improvement 
  • Advise of any changes in building security or safety concerns
  • Maintains and creates FAA documents for DAR approvals
  • Makes decisions to avoid disturbances with our customers
  • Report all non-conformities or process irregularities
  • Supports and works closely with team leads
  • Supports AOG (after hours support)
  • Ability to work various shifts
  • All other duties assigned

Minimum Education and Experience:           

  • 5&43; year’s inspection experience in an aviation environment, performing quality inspection functions
  • Experience as a temporary employee at VAS strongly preferred
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Knowledge of aviation parts, quality requirements, specifically with both Domestic and Foreign Airworthiness Regulations required
  • Aerospace quality inspection comprehension
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain and retain a Forklift Certification
  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with assistance; the majority of time is spent standing and walking. You must have the ability to climb, bend, squat, reach, grasp and lift
