TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER- ALBERTA

We are presently seeking a Technical Services Manager located in Alberta covering the prairie provinces. The Technical Services Manager position supports automotive aftermarket parts warranty and training initiatives. The training duties of this position require effective presentation skills in order to successfully conduct product/technical seminars, and Instructor Led hands on training to the independent automotive aftermarket. Technical aptitude & the ability to present technical information in front of a large audience is essential to this role. The warranty duties of this position entail a sustained high level of customer satisfaction through product inspections, trends analysis and customer support on any defective products. The successful candidate must be highly motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal direction. The ideal candidate will have Dealership or Independent Service Center Technician, Service Consultant, and/or Service Manager experience.

Full-Time Salary / Exempt role ; Company car provided by V2X.

Realistic travel would be 60 Alberta, 30 Saskatchewan,10 Manitoba



RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct technical training.
  • Provide technical product support.
  • Conduct warranty inspections.
  • Conduct field product investigations/reporting.
  • Liaise with customer field staff.
  • Support customer trade shows.
  • Any other duties as required


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of automotive industry experience.
  • Journeyman Automotive Technician with a Valid Class ‘A Automotive Technician License (or Provincial Equivalent) with automotive aftermarket parts experience preferred.
  • Extensive working knowledge of automotive systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of repair procedures and day-to-day workings of an independent service repair Centre.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work-related experience
  • Ability to utilize various instructional methods to deliver effective training to groups ranging in size from 3 – 60 participants with preference given to candidates with automotive training experience (all makes, all models)
  • Valid ODP Certification license, instructor status is an asset.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independent of daily supervision.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Working knowledge of various automotive diagnostic tools- Pico Scope, Scan Tools, etc.
  • Valid drivers license as driving a vehicle on a daily basis is an essential function of this position.
  • Ability to obtain a valid passport and be able to travel to U.S.
  • Some overnight travel required.
  • Travel would realistically be 60 Alberta, 30 Saskatchewan and 10 Manitoba.
