Job Description:
At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Company, we’ve been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for engine and mechanical transmissions applied to both civil and military aviation (i.e., accessory drivetrains, engine thermal management, turboprop & helicopter reduction gearboxes, etc.).In this role you’ll work as deputy of the focal point of a new helicopter power rig development, from the requirements definition to the commissioning and testing activities.You will follow and coordinate the design activities as well as prepare the official reviews by involving the experts, CTHs and designers, making sure that all the reviews’ actions are closed properly and on time and the presentation material is adequate and complete in order to ensure a successful design process execution. You’ll support, if needed, in the initial installation, commissioning and testing at the final Customer’s facility.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Be focal point for rig requirements compliance and flow-down

  • Execute the needed design reviews for the specific project with the CTH community

  • Follow and monitor the rig manufacturing and integration activities and coordinate the commissioning up to the rig formal acceptance and following initial test phases the supplier’s facilities

  • Monitor program milestones and support internal rhythms to ensure successful project execution

  • Be focal point for rig integration and commissioning activities both at Supplier and at final Customer

  • Lead and/or support investigation activities in case of rig issues

  • Ensure that the compliance matrix is up to date and agreed with internal Customers and CTHs

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aeronautics or Mechanical engineering

  • Knowledge of mechanical components design, mechanical drawings, industrial electric, hydraulic and data acquisition systems/software

  • Basic knowledge of 3D modelling drawing tools (NX, Teamcenter)

  • Fluent in English and Italian

  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required

  • Availability to travel (Italy and abroad) for short-medium periods

Desired Characteristics

  • Background in mechanical, hydraulic, electric and data acquisition systems (hardware and software)

  • Knowledge of helicopter transmission systems and testing

  • Project management skills to plan and monitor the activities in terms of schedule (and costs)

  • Clear thinking and diligent approach

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work well under pressure, in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Team working with internal and external Partner/Customer

  • Capacity of leading cross functional and multicultural teams

  • PC proficiency

  • Passionate, curious and enthusiastic for engineering challenges

  • System mindset and problem solving skills
