Programme Support Officer

16.11 - 20.55 per hour

Morson are currently recruiting for a Programme Support Officer to support one of our distinguished aerospace clients on the Isle of Wight. This role is based within the repairs and spares business area, hence you would be responsible for managing the order book of outstanding customer requests. You would be expected to support the day-to-day program operations of the business. You would be responsible for the administration activities associated with progress, scope, cost and resource management.

We are ideally looking for someone with a background of supporting technical repairs and spares within an engineering environment. You will need to understand the process of assessing returned parts and decide the correct follow up. This is a contract role running until the end of 2024, so we need someone comfortable in a production/manufacturing environment that can get up to speed quickly. You will be based in East Cowes, working 37 hours a week at a rate of 16.11 per hour PAYE or 20.55 per hour Umbrella.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage order book of spare requirements.
  • Process repair and spares using computer management systems.
  • Manage customer relationships, maintaining clear and concise communication of status of orders.
  • Assess spares on a case-by-case basis to understand correct process to follow and continue to monitor progress of process. Maintain contact with engineering staff to keep up to date with progress and delays.
  • Compiling and follow up work breakdown structure, organization breakdown structure, and cost breakdown structure schedules/ plans for the program.
  • Control and monitoring progress, scope, costs and resource management and allocation for the program.
  • Based on analysis, initiating of improvements/recoveries of on-time delivery and quality
  • Preparing the demand for operations, including required performance measures and preparing the agreements with the performance site.
  • Supporting Risk and Opportunity Management activities and managing the risk register to control and mitigate the risk exposure.
  • Establishing and controlling robust document management.

Essential Requirements

  • Previously worked as a project coordinator, repairs administrator, programme support officer or similar controlling role in an engineering environment.
  • Experience of working to a repair/production process in an engineering environment.
  • Responsible for managing an orders book within an engineering environment.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety restrictions in a engineering production environment.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office, and general IT literacy. Able to conduct administrative tasks using IT equipment.
  • Able to manage a variety of stakeholders from in house repair engineers to aerospace clients. Confident presenter of information when required.
  • Experience of owning a process/workflow and taking responsibility for delays and issues within the process.

Desired Requirements

  • Specific experience within parts management in the Aerospace or Automotive industries.
  • Project Management Qualification.
  • Commercial awareness of impact of repairs/spares.
  • General understanding of the engineering industry.

Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will need to be BPSS cleared or eligible for this level of clearance before starting on site
