RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and interpret Metallographic samples to customer specifications for heat treats, audits, specials and customer approval packages.
  • Record and maintain accurate traceability information for all incoming Metallographic samples.
  • Segregate scrap samples and alloy into proper bins by alloy type.
  • File all micros into storage boxes when drawers are filled with legible micro ranges and dates including storing boxes neatly and orderly into the warehouse.
  • 100 audit of daily Heat Treat & Hip charts to assure conformance to requirements.
  • Willing to advance to level I – III certifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High School degree or equivalent required
  • 2+ year college degree preferred
  • ASTM training or certification in heat treating or Metallography a plus
  • Must be well organized and able to self-direct daily activities.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs. and at times sit for long periods of time.
  • Technical report writing including advanced computer skills in Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Ability to analyze specifications, cut up diagrams & metallographic features.
  • Follow all departmental safety, rules and regulations.
