• Location: Munich / Ottobrunn
• Start: As soon as possible
• Duration: 6 months

You will join the department on Communication Technologies at Airbus Corporate Research and Technology. The department is pioneering new communication system architectures and technologies to enable persistent and secure communications for Airbus’ future flying platforms. 

You will acquire an in-depth insight into Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and you will have the opportunity to participate in the design and implementation of test beds for free-space quantum optical communication.

• Research on concepts and methods for aerospace quantum communication

• Experiments using existing and new quantum communication testbenches

• Hands-on implementations and conceptual work equally

• Enrolled full-time student (d/f/m) in Physics, Quantum Technologies, Engineering or equivalent

• You have a solid understanding of the principles of quantum mechanics and a strong interest in quantum information, quantum communication or quantum cryptography.

• You are familiar with basic optical components and have experience with  assembling and aligning of optical setups

• Ideally you are familiar with Linux and the basic command line tools

• You are fluent in English or in German

• You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently.
