Summary

Serves as a contact with employees on labor and benefit related issues. Responsible for performance management programs, recruiting, and retention of Henderson employees. This is a administrative position that involves but not limited to Benefits administration, leave of absence, and attendance tracking and administration. Participates in various Human Resources initiatives and serves as backup to various HR functions.

Essential Functions

  • Act as business partner for managers and supervisors providing counseling and support in dealing with employer/employee relations’ issues and interpretation/application of employment practices and procedures.
  • Administer various employee benefit programs, such as group health insurance (medical, pharmaceutical, vision and dental), accident and disability insurance, savings plans, life insurance plans, personal choice (flex) plans, employee assistance program and relocation policy.
  • Administer implementation of new benefit programs; arranges and conducts employee information presentations, enrollments and new hire orientation.
  • Maintain all applicable data in applicable HRIS system (SAP & Workday ), including benefit enrollment and changes.
  • Administer and approve non-work related medical leave of absence - Sickness & Accident and Salary Continuance benefits and FMLA leave.
  • Responsible for recruiting, screening, hiring of employees and plant level salaried employees; coordinate internal postings for non-bargaining jobs.
  • Publish weekly/daily reports such as overtime, headcount, seniority, attendance, and various SAP reports.

Qualifications

  • A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet constant deadlines.
  • Knowledge of benefits practices and procedures including FMLA.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Access, Word) and SAP applications.
  • Ability and desire to learn various functions within the HR department.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor&39;s degree in Human Resources, Labor, Industrial Relations, Business or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of generalist experience including: benefits, labor relations, recruiting, and employee relations.
  • Union experience preferred; PHR certification preferred
  • Proof of US citizenship, nationality, and/or permanent resident status in order to comply with all applicable export and import laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work in industrial surrounding.
