The Boeing Digital Aviation Solutions (DAS) team is seeking a DevOps Developer Experienced Level 3 or Senior Level 4 located in Englewood CO to help develop the next generation of an aviation data management system that manages data for airline and business customers around the world. The Boeing DAS Principal Cloud DevOps will focus on supporting the cloud migration, adoption, and maturation initiatives in the DAS business organization within Boeing Global Services (BGS). The person in this role is a player-coach, who builds awareness, increases knowledge, and drives adoption of cloud technologies, sharing consumer and technical benefits to gain buy-in. They must have a technical background with experience in building and operating high quality and secure software into a 24x7 global, multi-cloud, SaaS environment. They are a good communicator and an influencer, comfortable speaking to CxOs, senior executives, and a diverse audience of software engineers, and product managers. They make data driven decisions to drive their day-to-day work and act as a mentor for other technologists when necessary. They understand the challenges of organizational change and the nuances of adopting new technology and development practices.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Defines or verifies requirements, costs, architecture, designs and plans for applications migrating and optimizing in the cloud.
  • Prepares initial design constraints and ensures architecture conforms to cloud migration requirements and productions operations requirements. Production operations requirements include cost, alerting, monitoring, high availability, disaster recovery, continuous integration, deployment (CICD), operations and information security.
  • Preforms feasibility assessments of cloud migration solutions and alternatives.
  • Monitors the cloud migration and transition to production operations for correctness and completeness, Provides technical mentoring, guidance and clarification to team members, vendors, and system teams.
  • Provides effective communication to business and technical community on behalf of the project.
  • Promotes and scales cloud excellence and automation, using opportunities to reuse and inner-source solutions where possible.
  • Operates as trusted advisor for the cloud platform, helping to share use cases and implementation in a unified cost-effective manner.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the Englewood, CO location. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3&43; years of experience in web application development and operations
  • 5&43; years of experience in automated provisioning and configuring of software-defined infrastructure and designing for continuous deployment and continuous operations.
  • 3&43; years of experiences in Azure and scaling monolithic and microservice-oriented production applications.
  • Proven experience to research, advise, compare, and recommend cost effective technology solutions; ability to demonstrate and maintain method of keeping current on new technologies.
  • 3&43; years of experience leading in cloud adoption at-scale.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5&43; years of experience in web application development and operations
  • Amazon Web Services, Azure Cloud Solutions Architect Certification – Associates or other related certifications
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills
  • Experience with enabling an organization centric targeted to business outcomes.
  • Experience in controlling and reporting costs in a cloud environment.
  • Ability to inspire and lead.

Typical Education & Experience:

Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master&43;3 years related work experience, 9 years related work experience, etc. Preferred but not required.

Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD&43;4 years related work experience, Master&43;7 years related work experience, 13 years related work experience, etc.). Preferred but not required.

Relocation:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range:

Level 3: $116,450.00-$157,550.00

Level 4: $132,600.00-$179.400.00
