Crew Controlling teamleader

Mission

As the Crew Control Team Leader, reporting to Head of IOCC, you will be responsible for the safe, secure, economic, punctual and customer-orientated planning, execution and continuous assessment of service delivery at Crew Control. You will ensures day-to-day crew tracking, steering and support are in accordance at all times with current rules and regulations, collective labour agreements, and any operational directives. You will adapt general processes to line procedures and ensures process loyalty in the line organization. The Crew Control Team Leader coordinates the work of a team of Crew Control Officers, including operations, training, continuous improvement etc.

Tasks

People Management

  • Team Management and development in accordance with target agreements, appraisals and budget allowance
  • Selecting, leading, guiding and motivating your team
  • Resource budgeting, planning and ad-hoc adaptation of roster to ensure operations stability and quality
  • Ensure timely and adequate (re-)training of all team members to perform tasks in high quality and to be future-fit
  • Developing and fostering talent by applying the available performance management tools and managing performance consequences
  • Conducting personnel appraisals and periodic feedback talks together with Head of iOCC

Operations

  • Ensure correct operational compliance with regulatory, industrial and Company requirements
  • Adapt general processes to line procedures and ensure process loyalty
  • Provide and control adequate procedures to the Crew Control Team in accordance with Operational Manuals, Collective Labour Agreements and Work Procedures
  • Ensure a proper daily reporting of any types of irregularities
  • Ensure continuous communication flow to resp. stakeholders in case of time-critical planning change or activity
  • Represent Crew Control in Irregularity Task Force or ECC meetings when required
  • Provide functional expertise to drive continuous process improvement
  • Ensure feedback loop to resp. stakeholders, e.g. Crew Scheduling, to achieve optimal operations stability and reliability
  • Attend meetings related to nature of business
  • Operations excellence: routinely identify weakness in procedures and processes, lead the team to perform root cause analysis and execute corrective action to drive continuous improvement
  • Participate in the Crew Control Officer duties in case of need

Performance Assurance

  • Operations quality: KPI monitoring, root cause analysis and follow up actions
  • Is also in control together with the Head of iOCC that all KPIs are met and controlled correctly
  • In coordination with Head of iOCC, review and develop further KPI concept that suits the nature of business

Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain a transparent, smooth and healthy information flow with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proactively handle two-way feedback to/from stakeholders with the goal of process enhancement and joint success
  • Provide support and deliver data to the Legal Department on request
  • Review and refine process based on service scope development

Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 3 years of experience in aviation operations and/or people management, can be substituted by many years of civil aviation experience in the area of Crew management. Master’s degree desired.
  • Fluent in Dutch, French, English
  • Strong people management skills
  • Strong resilient problem solver, able to work and deliver under time pressure and to make pragmatic decisions with sound judgement
  • Profound knowledge of EU OPS regulations and crew resource management tools
  • Strong analytical, communication and reporting skills
  • Strong Change Management skills
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Critical thinker with creative problem solving skills
  • Learning by doing
  • People management experience in operational environment is a plus
  • Project management experience is a plus
  • Process management experience is a plus
