The Team
Join our Disputes Team, where you will work closely with both internal and external legal representatives, as well as our operations and customer service teams. We are passionate about supporting the business in managing consumer legal challenges and ensuring our customers receive the best possible service during times of operational disruption.
The Role
As a Consumer Claims Paralegal for Italy, you will support the management, coordination, and processing of consumer legal challenges that arise from operational disruption. Your focus will be on claims for delays and cancellations, ensuring each case is assessed and managed efficiently.
You will:
> Manage a caseload of litigated claims from inception to settlement or final hearing, including compliance with court timescales, liaising with third party legal representatives, and preparing for trial
> Access and interrogate aviation operational systems to gather information for defending court cases or supporting out-of-court settlements
> Liaise with legal representatives across different jurisdictions to coordinate cases and settlements
> Collaborate with the operations team to secure evidence and provide guidance on disruption management strategies
> Advise customer service on EU 261 legislation and consumer law enquiries
> Maintain accurate databases and systems, ensuring consistency of information relating to flight disruptions
> Ensure timely payment of claims and accurate recording of payment data
> Maintain the precedent and evidence database for the Disputes Team
> Attend business disruption meetings to provide advice during mass or predicted disruption events
