As part of Delta’s Global Health & Wellness team, the Leaves & Absences Transformation function plays a critical role in supporting employees during some of the most important moments of their lives—from medical and family leave to return‑to‑work transitions. This team partners closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to design and deliver a more seamless, compassionate, and modern employee leave experience. Supporting a large, diverse global workforce, Leaves & Absences Transformation is at the center of Delta’s commitment to care, wellbeing, and operational excellence across the employee journey.

As a Leaves & Absences Transformation Co‑Op, you will partner closely with Health & Wellness, HR, Operations, and Technology teams to support the redesign of Delta’s employee leave experience. Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the end‑to‑end redesign of the employee leave journey, with a focus on simplifying processes, improving clarity, and enhancing moments of care across medical, family, and return‑to‑work leaves.
  • Analyze employee experience data, operational metrics, and feedback to identify pain points, trends, and opportunities for improvement within leave programs.
  • Apply project management and change management principles to support transformation initiatives from concept through implementation.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to document current‑state processes and help design future‑state workflows that improve efficiency, consistency, and employee experience.
  • Assist with process engineering and internal consulting efforts to streamline leave operations and reduce friction for employees and leaders.
  • Develop insights, recommendations, and presentations that translate data and findings into actionable improvements.
  • Support pilots, testing, and rollout of new tools, processes, or communications related to the leave experience.
  • Contribute to a culture of empathy, care, and continuous improvement by bringing a human‑centered lens to transformation work.

Note: Students must not take academic classes during Co-Op semesters. Please confirm with your university and academic advisor that this schedule aligns with your curriculum.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Working as a Co-op does not guarantee a full-time opportunity upon graduation. This position is intended to provide you with educational and professional work experience to prepare you for the workforce.
  • This position requires you to work for 3 alternating semesters. You cannot actively take any courses (inclusive of online or in-person) and work as a Co-op at the same time, which may delay your graduation by 1-2 semesters.
  • Rotations: Summer 2026, Spring 2027, Fall 2027
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
