Job Summary: 

The Calibration Technician performs a wide range of physical and electronic calibrations for test and measurement equipment with minimal supervision. The following responsibilities are typical of what this position maybe required to perform, however they are not all inclusive. 

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Maintains a working knowledge of the calibration recall system and coordinates with functional groups for timely return of equipment for calibration 

  • Ensures that the calibration lab equipment and calibration procedures are adequate to process test equipment 

  • Maintains paper and electronic records to verify calibration actions and traceability 

  • Identifies overdue and out-of-tolerance equipment 

  • Determines requirements for contract calibration suppliers and initiates requests/purchase orders and shippers to obtain outside calibration support 

  • Monitors contract calibration system to ensure compliance to calibration standards are met 

  • Performs repairs or contracts repair of test equipment as required 

  • Prioritizes equipment calibration based on product processing requirements 

  • Any other tasks assigned by supervisor or management 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Experience: 1-5 years of related experience  

  • Knowledge: Proficiency in MS Office 

  • Skills/Abilities: Ability to set up and operate standard and special purposes test equipment.  Ability to read and interpret standards and specifications, schematics and related wiring diagrams. Requires precise hand-eye coordination. 

  • Education/Certification: Associates degree in Electronics or equivalent experience required 

  • Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Working Conditions:

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment

  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment (Personal Protective Equipment) to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE

  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes

  • Involves handling parts in compliance with Electrostatic Discharge Devices (ESD procedures)

  • Standing: 10 *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

  • Sitting: 90 *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

  • Lifting (in pounds): Up to 40 pounds

  • Pushing (in pounds): Up to 40 pounds

  • Mental/Visual: Use of Computer

  • Workspace: Work Bench

Minimum qualifications for Calibration Technician I: 1+ years of relevant experience. Hourly Pay Range: $30.00 to $39.00

Minimum qualifications for Calibration Technician II: 3+ years of relevant experience. Hourly Pay Range: $35.00 to $45.00
