Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Perform startup procedures such as turning on and warming up machines, maintaining machine fluid levels, and checking for leaks. Monitor programs and machine for tool collisions and other anomalies
- Manufacture parts on the brake press by correctly setting up the material, installing necessary tooling, and loading/developing correct programs.
- Use basic inspection equipment and blueprints to ensure that parts will pass inspection.
- Perform the maintenance assigned to the machine operator and ensure maintenance logs are kept up to date.
- Communicate Expedite parts to downstream customers.
- Communicate problems such as notes on bad parts, broken tools or dies, and machine problems following the appropriate chain of command to ensure the correct plan of action is pursued in a timely manner.
- Follow requirements on the job travelers and record work in E10/MES.
- Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve issues.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing, 6-sigma, 5S and/or equivalent methodologies to continually make improvements in safety, quality, throughput, and cost.

Position Requirements:
- 0-2 years of related experience and/or education.
- High School diploma or GED
- Proficient in MS Windows 7, MS Office Suite, and Internet Explorer.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Must have extremely high attention for detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast paced production environment.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to demonstrate good analytical skills, alphanumeric accuracy, and reading comprehension.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; the employee is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. This position requires exposure to manufacturing areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection is required.
