The Opportunity

Boeing Defence Australias (BDA) Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Team is looking for an Aviation Technical Skills Training Focalto support the P-8A Poseidon maintenance team based at RAAF Base Edinburgh.

Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will help to manage the progression of junior Aviation Tradespeople through the different MEA modules and authorisation levels within the maintenance team, primarily focusing on Journal task completion and guidance. They will also mentor, coach and assist in the upskilling and progression of all members of the maintenance team.

Trainee and Apprentice Management

  • Support mentoring/monitoring of trainees and apprentices
  • Engaging with Boeing MRO Training Systems Integrators (TSI), Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and supporting DASA Pt. 147 Maintenance Training Organisations (MTOs) to identify appropriate course availability, candidate enrollment and progression
  • Implement and coordinate continuation training programs and track currency requirements for MRO workforce
  • Manage and oversee the P8 Military Aviation Maintenance Licence (MAML) progression process
  • Liaise with supporting DASA Pt. 145 Maintenance Organisations to establish and coordinated trainee and apprentice progression across the P-8A Enterprise
  • Coordinate with Responsible Manager and Quality Assurance representatives to identify, implement and track post graduate verification of competency

MRO Resourcing

  • Analyse current and future P-8A MRO Resourcing (workforce) needs and implement strategic initiatives to support workforce requirements

Your checklist for success:

  • Well-developed understanding of Aeroskills Training Package
  • Experience and knowledge of DASR
    • Part 145 and its relationship to Part 66
    • Part 66
  • Strong and effective communication skills and ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including building strong relationships - RTOs, ANPs, Apprentices
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, Aeroskills or other relevant trade background
  • NV1 clearance
