Summary

Administers and coordinates moderately complex human resources activities in one or more core functional Human Resources (HR) areas including benefits, compensation, labor relations, or staffing. Applies established principles, theories, and concepts to resolve policy issues or to assist in the development of innovative solutions and activities in core functional areas. Guides lower level specialists as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • May lead, manage or oversee programs such as University Relations or Diversity & Inclusion; may provide strategic and tactical staffing support to one or more organizations. Administers HR programs following established guidelines.
  • Manage multiple tasks & medium to large scale projects autonomously to improve processes and ensure a positive employee experience.
  • Conducts research and gathers data to assist in the resolution of problems or questions regarding human resources programs, identifying and recommending programs or process improvements.
  • Develops data and charts for statistical presentations.
  • Keeps current on state and federal regulations affecting the administration of associate human resource programs.
  • Provides technical and administrative guidance to lower level specialists regarding program and policy issues.
  • May perform other duties as required.
  • Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established ES&H requirements to ensure the protection of associates, the public, and the environment. Takes actions necessary to "stop" work when an unsafe condition or action is identified. Every associate has the right and responsibility to stop work when unsafe conditions or actions are identified.
You Must Have
  • Five or more years experience in human resources or related activities.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills.

  • Proven ability in decision making, mathematical, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Familiarity with personal computers, relevant software packages, and where necessary, mainframe applications.
