Parker Hannifin, Hose Products Division is the leading manufacturer of rigid and flexible hoses, assemblies, fittings and crimping technology for both the industrial and hydraulic hose spanets.
Position Summary
The Machine Operator (Automatics III) is responsible for basic machine setups, operating, adjusting, and maintaining two or more multiple-spindle screw machines, or running metal cutting operation required quality and production levels.
Responsibilities
- Ability to adjust all machine tooling and machine fixtures.
- Ability to grind all backup tooling associated with the machine.
- Ability to understand the basic concepts of feeds and speeds.
- Ability to perform setups of the following devices for conventional,
- NOCAM screw machines,
- BTB’s.Collets and Pads, Drills, Mill Holders, Cams, Taps
- Recess Holders, Pushers, Reamers and Step drills
- Ability to Understand of basic tool geometry’s: Clearances, Rake Angles, Margins, Lands
- Ability to troubleshooting of basic machining problems. Examples: Chatter, Roughness, tool spans, short feedouts, concentricity, etc.
Qualifications
- Must be able to work well with other facility associates.
- Ability to demonstrate “professionalism” with all associates, suppliers, and customers.
- Effective communication with shop personnel from all aspects of the business. Ability to read, write, and converse in English.
- Promotes a positive working environment.
- Punctual and maintains an acceptable attendance record.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years machine set up & operation
- Other duties as assigned
Physical demands
The employee is required to: Bending, reaching, lifting up to 35 pound boxes and totes, twisting, scooping, grasping, squatting, pushing/pulling, prolonged sitting/standing/walking, and fine hand-eye coordination. Exert 25 to 80 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Performs other duties as assigned by the Lead, Value Stream Team Leader, Value Stream Manager, Plant Manager, or any other individuals of authority within the facility. Follows and supports Parker’s Employee Handbook, Values, and Code of Ethics.
