Job Summary
The Production Controller works with Supervisors to plan and manage production tasks to improve runtime and throughput using capacity analysis on the production line. Monitor supply and demand through ERP system while reporting out through KPIs to support the business plan. Plan and monitor material movement in production cycles to ensure continuous operations. This position is a member of Line Support Team (LST) consisting of a Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineer, and a Quality representative.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary and general responsibility satisfactorily.
Primary responsibilities
· Leads the Supply Chain function within Line Support Team (LST) to ensure parts are delivered to Point of Use (POU)
on time to meet operational needs
· Measures linearity performance to the daily rate (MPS) and reports out at the LST standup meetings and ensures the recovery plan provided by operations meets downstream customer needs.
· Ensures the production line is supported with material to move the line on time and at the highest quality level (proactive visual inspection of RIP health, coverage for material handler absences, risk tool date analytics, etc.)
· Responds to any line stopping shortage (red light condition) within the area by working with purchasing and materials teams to supply needed part as soon as possible
· Leads communication, drives, and enforces material Kanban standards for assigned area of responsibility
· Drives root cause and corrective action for shortages and variances to processes
· Ensures area of responsibility is always ready for supply chain quality system audit
· Schedules and sequences work orders daily to meet the production schedule including creation, release/sequence, updates and closure per the COS Principles/supply chain SOPs available in Windchill/UKG
· Maintains all area shortage reports and acts as the conduit between Materials Management, Procurement and the assigned LST
· Leads change management introduction of new parts in assigned area including but not limited to, engineering change, sales order changes, and deferred work
· Maintains visual management standards in the area assigned (6S) of LST supply chain area
· Escalates part shortage issues per the defined escalation process and provides updates to the LST (line support team) or daily standup meetings
· Reviews closed work orders to understand variances and corrections required weekly
· Leads continuous improvement activities across the assigned production line
· Documents changes to standard processes in area of responsibility
· Leads cross-training efforts for other production controllers within area of responsibility
· Reviews MRB (Material Review Board) with LST items prior to processing and assigns proper department codes
· Manages the processing of MRB items back to MRB cage by ensuring Manufacturing and Quality are processing items in a timely manner
· Maintains ERP via data verification and entry with correct production lead times, required stocking quantities and kanban locations
· Coordinates the manufacturing of all Aftermarket parts in the assigned work cell to achieve on time delivery to the work order
· Executes the enterprise cycle count program by completing recount for assigned production line
Qualifications

1-3 years of experience in manufacturing and/or supply chain or a bachelors degree in supply chain or related field.
Essential Functions:
•Experience with purchasing, expediting, MRP/ERP systems, quality/continuous improvement initiatives, manufacturing safety practices and MS Office application
•Efficient in record keeping and preparation of reports; capable of reviewing other peoples work and determining accuracy and conformity to standards.
•Strong communications skills
•Excellent organizational skills, must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize accordingly
