This position is for an experienced project management professional with expertise in developing project plans, budgets, and schedules. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing overall project execution, identifying and resolving challenges and ensuring adherence to supplier standards. Proficiency in Earned Value Management (EVM) is essential for monitoring performance against cost and schedule objectives. A background in manufacturing and/or operations is highly desirable, as this role requires collaboration with production teams and an understanding of operational processes. 

The ideal candidate is a highly collaborative leader capable of navigating crucial conversations, fostering teamwork, and driving solution-oriented outcomes. This role includes overarching project accountability and the informal leadership of a team of project managers to ensure seamless execution across multiple projects.  

What You Will Do:

• Provide leadership to a team of project managers, mentoring and guiding them to achieve overall project success. 

• Maintain overarching accountability for project execution, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and stakeholder expectations. 

• Serve as the primary representative of the project team, effectively communicating updates, risks and key milestones to internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders.  

• Develop, manage, and adjust project plans, schedules, and budgets to meet objectives. 

• Manage project budget and pursue all cost saving opportunities to maximize project profitability. 

• Apply EVM principles to track project performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions. 

• Conduct critical path analysis and develop contingency plans to ensure successful execution. 

• Identify and mitigate risks while ensuring compliance with project scope and financial constraints. 

• Regularly interacts and interfaces with customers. 

Qualifications You Must Have:

• U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

• Experience or prior ownership of leading programs/projects or people.

Qualifications We Prefer: 

• Highly collaborative leader with the ability to navigate crucial conversations, resolve conflicts and foster a solution-driven work environment. 

• Proven ability to informally lead project managers, mentor teams, and drive alignment across projects. 

• Strong knowledge and practical application of Earned Value Management (EVM). 

• PMP certification is a plus. 

• Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and project stakeholders. 

• Background in manufacturing and/or operations, with an understanding of production processes and operational workflows. 

• MS office proficiency utilizing MS Project, Power Point, and Excel. 

• Working knowledge of SAP. 

• 25-50 time spent on-site.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
