Job Summary:
Cargojet is seeking a highly strategic and detail-oriented VP, Investor Relations to lead all aspects of investor engagement, financial communications, and capital markets positioning. This role will serve as the key conduit between Cargojet and the investment community, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and alignment between the companys strategic vision and external stakeholder expectations. The incumbent will contribute to both day-to-day transactional activities and long-term strategic planning, leveraging deep financial and industry expertise to strengthen shareholder confidence and corporate reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop, implement, and evolve a comprehensive investor relations strategy aligned with Cargojets financial performance, growth priorities, and corporate vision.
- Advise senior leadership on investor sentiment, capital markets developments, and competitive dynamics to support strategic decision-making.
- Shape and articulate the companys equity story, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across all public-facing investor communications.
Investor Engagement & Communications
- Serve as the primary point of contact for institutional investors, equity analysts, and rating agencies, cultivating long-term relationships to enhance shareholder value.
- Organize and lead quarterly earnings calls, investor roadshows, annual shareholder meetings, and other IR events.
- Craft and coordinate the development of investor-facing materials, including investor presentations, Q&A documents, fact sheets, and management scripts.
- Collaborate with Legal and Finance to prepare and review regulatory disclosures, such as annual reports, proxy circulars, and press releases.
- Maintain the Investor Relations section of the corporate website and ensure compliance with CSA and other regulatory bodies.
Transactional & Analytical Responsibilities
- Monitor and synthesize sell-side analyst coverage, industry news, peer earnings, and macroeconomic indicators to inform investor messaging and management guidance.
- Track trading activity, shareholder composition, and investor feedback to assess market perception and adapt IR strategies accordingly.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret internal financial performance and industry benchmarks (e.g., load factor, yield, ATK) to support corporate reporting and IR deliverables.
- Support the Finance team in ensuring data accuracy, financial control outputs, and system integrity for all investor-related financial disclosures.
- Contribute to capital markets initiatives, including equity or debt issuance, investor targeting, and transaction communications.
ESG & Regulatory Oversight
- Support ESG strategy integration into the IR function, including sustainability reporting and communications aligned with investor expectations and Canadian aviation standards.
- Stay abreast of evolving ESG disclosure frameworks, securities regulations (e.g., SEDAR+), and emerging Transport Canada policies impacting the investment landscape.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field (MBA, CPA, or CFA designation is an asset).
- 5+ years of experience in investor relations, capital markets, financial communications, or aviation finance.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian securities regulations and disclosure practices (e.g., SEDAR+).
- Familiarity with aviation-specific KPIs (e.g., load factor, available tonne kilometers, yield).
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and IR platforms (e.g., Q4, TMX InfoSuite).
- Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
- Understanding of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting standards and frameworks
