PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Team Lead is responsible for ensuring that modifications work orders (MWO) are successfully applied to aircraft safely and efficiently. Responsible for a team of two Airframe Sheet Metal Technicians and two Avionic / Electrical Technicians. Responsible for CDI authority of installed MWO’s.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversight of assembles, and installation of modification kits for UH-60 aircraft.

  • Interpret military technical manuals, technical orders, modification work orders and blue prints

  • Coordinates with Project Lead for scheduling, execution and installation of required MWOs.

  • Coordinate with the Project Lead and Project Assistant travel, lodging accommodations trip planning.

  • Work with various thickness of aluminum, steel alloys, stainless steel, copper, brass and other ferrous and non-ferrous metals in the fabrication of production metal parts for aircraft modifications

  • Supervise sheet metal, avionic, and electrical modifications as prescribed in the applicable MWO.

  • Maintain accountability of personnel on your team. Coordinate actions and requirements of team members with the Project Lead and Program Manager AIMS.

  • Required to perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the scheduled MWOs and team requirements.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for all installs assigned to your team.

  • Responsible for team members actions and accountability.

  • Responsible for planning and executing trips from one site to the next and for coordinating these trips with the Project Lead and his Project Assistant.

  • Responsible for accountability of tools and equipment for team.

  • Responsible for time sheet completion and submission.

  • Responsible for appearance and actions of team members.

  • Responsible to act and represent your team in a highly professional manner.

  • Responsible to always represent Y Tech Services, Inc in a professional manner.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs. Working knowledge of advanced software applications is preferred

  • Ability to enter data accurately into databases.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

  • Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Will also routinely interact with owning unit personnel and crew members.

  • Must possess effective oral and technical written communication skills to clearly communicate information to others.

  • Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc.

  • Ability to follow a process.

  • Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.

  • Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicate issues to management.

  • Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to Y-Tech Services, Inc.’s goals.

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations

  • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Climbs on top of and down from aircraft using aircraft hand/foot holds, capable of lifting up to 25 lbs. overhead, on feet all day, walk up to 2 miles per day.

Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Must have an Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License. (The candidate can come from General Mechanic, Airframe Sheet Metal Technician, or Avionics / Electrical Technician background just as long as they are a licensed A & P).

  • High School Diploma / Equivalent. AA or higher desired.

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years supervisory or manager experience.

  • Minimum five (5) years recent and total experience in A & P repair, plus a demonstrated ability to fabricate complex items from rudimentary drawings or verbal direction.

  • Must have ability to read, interpret and apply technical manual (TM) instructions as well as other approved sources of technical information.

  • Must be able to operate within Y-Tech’s policies and procedures and within the limitation of sites you will work at.

  • Must have a clean driving record and a current driver’s license.

  • Must be able to keep control of your team in an “On the Road” work scenario.

  • Must have held a previous Security Clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance for this position.
