JOB SUMMARY:

Textron Aviation is expanding its participation in Department of Defense and partner agencies and companies Career Skills Programs. As a military ready company these efforts are critical to strengthening our pipeline of talent from the military community.

Responsible for initiating, managing, and overseeing the implementation of our partnership with the DoD, and other companies providing internship, fellowship, and apprenticeship opportunities to transitioning service members and military spouses.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Design and oversee sustainable programs across Textron Aviation that leverages our status as a DoD Industry Partner and SkillBridge Provider.

· Manage information about Textron Aviation and our opportunities presented on the DoD SkillBridge website and other partners.

· Lead the SkillBridge, Fellowship, and apprenticeship approval processes to earn Provider status at the installation or Service level.

· Collaborate with Textron Aviation leaders on their talent needs and orient recruiting on the relevant potential skills and experiences required.

· Leverage internal and external data to contribute to the development of sourcing and recruiting strategies to fulfill internship, fellowship, and apprenticeship objectives.

· Collaborate with company leadership, recruiters, and appropriate military leadership on individual plans.

· Participate in routine stakeholder discussions to enable conversions to full-time employees.

· Develop and manage a veteran employee mentor program to assist each intern through their experience.

· Ensure Textron Aviation remains compliant when interacting with government employees.

· Partner with Recruitment Marketing and Communication team to support outreach and recruiting efforts.

· Partner with the military programs program manager on statistics and analytical analysis.

Job Requirements:

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Human Resources Management, Business Management, or related field, or in lieu of degree minimum 5 years of relative experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience project or program management preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Prior military experience or familiarity with basic military structure.

· Experience using applicant tracking systems.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Experience with recruiting compliance, especially as it pertains to government employees.

· Prior recruiting and/or sourcing experience.

· Experience leading large transformation projects.

· Experience leading and/or developing cross functional teams/networks.

· Ability to travel 15-20%.

· Knowledge and understanding of DoD SkillBridge, Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program and Military Spouse Fellowship Program, Department of Labor’s Veteran Employment Training Programs.

· Knowledge of military installation organizations, including the different alignments per each military service.

· Understand organizational missions on each installation and how that translates to talent alignment with our needs.

· Familiar with how to partner with various military installations to enhance access to relevant talent.
