Job Description:
Principle Accountabilities LI-MR1

  • Manages the quality and safety programs to ensure compliance under the Contact.
  • Conducts quality and safety inspections/audits of the contract operations and subcontractors.
  • Prepares QA/Safety/Haz Waste programs, manuals and revisions.
  • Provides response to customer concerns and findings. Tracks corrective actions taken in response to internal and customer audit findings.
  • Acts as a direct representative of V2X to the local Navy point of contact.
  • Monitors the weight & balance, FOD, Calibration, nondestructive testing, corrosion prevention, tool control, and ground safety programs along with other programs assigned.
  • Established and communicates program metrics as needed.
  • Maintains awareness of regulatory changes and disseminates safety-related bulletins, technical changes and literature to work site personnel.
  • Investigates mishaps and injuries.
  • Maintains technical Library.
  • Ensures compliance with V2X programs, FAA, and government directives.
  • Ensures Airworthiness Directive compliance and aircraft configuration.
  • Ensures Modification and Maintenance is conducted utilizing approved data.
  • Monitors quality deficiencies and coordinates corrective actions.
  • Manages the inspection branch, including inspection requirements, trend analysis, technical order publication library, maintenance training programs, and functional check flight programs.
  • Provides guidance and direction to achieve compliance with all applicable safety and quality standards.
  • Provides leadership and knowledge to staff members and teams as necessary.
  • Comply with all current sections of COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series applicable to aircraft maintenance and ALSS.
  • Working knowledge of technical publications, NAMP and NALCOMIS aircraft maintenance applications.
  • Perform other job related duties as may be assigned.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude to offer technical direction in all maintenance areas.
  • Understand technical language terms in associated field.
  • Ability to interact effectively with personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Must have full knowledge of COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series and the RDT&E community.
Experience & Education

  • Bachelors degree in an associated discipline. Two (2) years experience in contracts or related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college.
  • A&P License/FAA Certification desirable but not required.
  • Eight to ten (8-10) years experience in any combination with the following areas: Quality Assurance/Improvement, ISO-9000, and /or Safety & Environmental Compliance.
  • Two (2) years Management experience preferred.
  • Completion of specialized courses in aircraft structural repair is required.

Requirements / Working Environment

  • May work in aircraft maintenance hangar or outside.
  • May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure.
  • May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft.
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft.
  • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to see aircraft in flight, read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, APU, etc.
