Overview:
V2X is seeking a Software Asset Manager to support managing software assets associated with a large-scale program focused on sustainment of DoD military training systems. This role will manage software assets utilized within deployed training systems, and the tools/systems/environments utilized in support of related sustainment functions. SAM processes and tools will be defined and selected as needed to support approval, deployment, updates/patches, and removal of supplier software and firmware products.
Job Description:
- Process Definition and Implementation:
- Define, implement, and manage Software Asset Management (SAM) processes.
- Ensure consistent SAM process execution across the program.
- Continuously review and improve SAM processes to align with program goals.
- Compliance and Governance:
- Maintain software license compliance and adherence to vendor agreements.
- Develop and enforce software usage policies and standards to mitigate compliance risks.
- Software Inventory and Lifecycle Management:
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all software assets.
- Oversee the lifecycle of software assets from acquisition to disposal, ensuring proper documentation and tracking.
- Vendor Management and Vendor Contract Support:
- Maintain relationships with software vendors and service providers.
- Support development and management processes for handling software contracts.
- Analyze and report on software asset expenditures.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and optimization.
- Generate reports on software asset status, compliance, and financial metrics.
Provide data-driven insights and recommendations that lead to execution optimization.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of SAM best practices and policies.
- Experience with software compliance and inventory management.
- Ability to maintain vendor relationships and software contracts effectively.
- Proficiency in reporting and analytics to provide actionable insights.
Education/ Experience:
8+BA/BS or 5+MA/MS
