Senior Manager Corporate Security Overview:

The Senior Manager of Security is responsible for all Sun Country Airlines day to day operations for security and has primary responsibility for establishing, maintaining and training Emergency Response (ER) processes across the airline. The Senior Manager of Security will conduct company security investigations. The Senior Manager of Security will also assist with the regulatory compliance of numerous international, federal, state and local agencies including, but not limited to, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Customs and Border Protection (CPB).

Essential roles and responsibilities of a Senior Manager Corporate Security:

  • Act as company liaison, program manager and subject matter expert for all security related functions. These functions involve direct contact with employees and inspectors from international, federal, state and local agencies.
  • Responsible for implementation and management of the SeMS (Security Management System) that is compliant with IOSA Standards.
  • Responsible for the compliance of Sun Country Airlines security programs and works directly with the TSA on the following, AOSSP (Aircraft Operator Standard Security Program), PCSSP (Private Charter Standard Security Program), FACAOSSP (Full Air Cargo Security Program) and PAPSP (Persons Accessible Property Screening Procedures.
  • Responsible for the delegation of authority for day-to-day tasks of security including operational security decision making.
  • Administering and maintaining all corporate security manuals and documentation. This includes maintaining the Sun Country Airlines employee portal security site which has information regarding Suspicious Incident Reports, Information Circulars, Security Directives, and threat information pertinent to Sun Country Airlines.
  • Ensure company compliance with passenger and crew screening/vetting regulations, watchlists, customs and immigration vetting and other international security regulations. This includes vetting on the daily No Fly List in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
  • Maintain and analyze data gathered through safety reporting database that are related to Sun Country Airlines security events/reports.
  • Provide security content and ensure departments develop and maintain the TSA-Approved training (initial and recurrent training). This information will be used in online or in person training.
  • Act as a guest or primary instructor when required for security training.
  • Ensure all company security training meets or exceeds regulatory requirements for all respective agencies.
  • Act as Facilities Security Officer (FSO) for the company per Department of Defense (DOD) guidelines.
  • Conduct required Department of Defense quarterly security screening audits.
  • Manage the company secret clearance program including regulatory compliance, employee screening, and training.
  • As directed, complete security department audits and/or investigations as required.
  • Maintains the Internal SY No Fly list for disruptive or fraudulent passengers.
  • Conduct and document weekly security spot checks for all MSP Sun Country Airlines facilities.
  • Responsible for the management, creation, and execution of the Companys Emergency Response Plan and to ensure that it complies with all regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for the yearly Emergency Response training, drills, and events for the entire organization.
  • Responsible for the execution and delivery of the LERAP (Local Emergency Response Action Plan for all SY Stations).
  • On call 24/7 for any security related operational issues.
  • Attend Industry meetings/conferences as well as work collaboratively with other company managers, external regulatory agencies, and industry resources.
  • Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, and federal safety and health regulatory requirements, programmatic standards, and with any internal policies and procedures identified by Sun Country Airlines.
  • 25 travel required
  • Other duties as required

The qualifications we are looking for in a Senior Manager Corporate Security include:

  • Bachelors degree and a minimum of 2 years related security experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Airline industry and Security experience required.
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter able to perform and communicate effectively within a multitasking environment.
  • Must be able to adjust and quickly react to constant change in security environment.
  • Must be able to react to ambiguity and provide clear direction.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving skills.
  • Must be computer literate (Microsoft applications) and able to use or quickly learn enterprise applications.
  • Data collection and management experience (preferred).
  • Qualified candidates must pass a criminal history background check.
  • Must be able to hold a secret clearance with the DOD, TSA, and other government agencies as needed.
