Job overview and responsibilities

The Senior Manager of Crew Resources Process and Execution leads a team responsible for executing processes vital to the support of our pilot workforce and compliance to contractual obligations. The role oversees and supports processes including training planning and scheduling for new hire pilots and existing pilots, vacation bidding and scheduling, vacancy execution, and other processes that compose the mechanics of the pilot system. The Senior Manager also owns and leads projects with Digital Technology to develop and create new tools for pilot bidding, training awarding, and records management. Finally, the Senior Manager will ensure contractual compliance is maintained, possessing a strong understanding of the provisions and implications of the UPA and implementation process and engaging with our ALPA partners on a regular basis.

Oversight of analysts responsible for planning and executing training for New Hire, incumbent, and upgrading pilots and drives alignment and coordination with the Flight Training Center to maximize the efficiency of our plans and ensure mutual supportability

Manages the efficient execution of monthly crew vacancy bids, including running vacancy snapshots, updating CCS and Flying Together, ensuring updates are correctly reflected in Pilot Records, and managing associated communications with ALPA and internal stakeholders

Supports and manages projects related to modernization of Crew Planning tools and systems, ensuring effective collaboration with DT/IT stakeholders, coordinating business needs with ALPA to ensure contractual compliance, and supporting change management within the business

Manages monthly and annual vacation processes serving the 17,000+ pilots to ensure offerings align with workforce planning targets and contractual requirements are met

Supports and develops the Pilot Support team responsible for answer pilot requests, resourcing within the team to ensure pilots receive effective and fully researched responses to inquiries

Manages the Pilot Support team processing of awards related to pilot movement, ensuring that necessary dependencies of process are considered, alignment with the other work groups is maintained, and contractual compliance is upheld

QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

Bachelor’s degree of 4 years of relevant work experience

7+ years of either: A) airline experience, majority financial and/or resource planning, or B) Professional Advisory serving airline clients with engagements across supply chain, resource planning, operational efficiency, or continuous improvement

Ability to manage multiple concurrent processes, ensure deadlines are met, and stakeholders are informed

Demonstrated track-record of successfully influencing processes and decisions in a cross-functional setting

Self-starter, collaborative, manages up status updates without follow-up

Natural inclination to drive improvements to ways of work, develop team skillsets, improve processes and

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

MS Office skilled in Excel and Access to data manipulation and analysis

Strong leadership skills, underpinned by empathy, that rally a team across a common purpose, while cultivating an environment that allows for span of care to thrive as their authentic selves

Strong attention to detail

Ability to make sound decisions which support & enhance the safety of the company

Experience managing people, including coaching team members, managing performance, and providing constructive feedback.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, or Statistics or equivalent experience in Management Consulting or Airline Management

Flight Ops, Inflight, Network Planning and Scheduling, Financial Planning & Analysis, or Strategic Planning/Corporate Development at a major global airline with multiple aircraft types and crew bases

Knowledge of Pilot contract, Pilot union, and workforce rules

Proven track record of structuring and evolving work processes, implementing change, managing automation/efficiency efforts


The base pay range for this role is $124,735.00 to $162,388.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
