Job Summary:
The Regional Sales Manager for our Microwave Solution will be responsible for booking of orders for microwave products within an assigned territory or set of accounts. Duties include seeking out and developing new business opportunities to apply microwave products and technical capabilities to meet customer requirements. You will also solicit and qualify bid requests intelligence and submitting proposals where applicable.
Essential Functions:
- Execute sales plans and programs, both short and long range, to ensure the profitable growth and expansion of company products and/or services.
- Solicit new business from current customers and potential new customers in area and accounts of responsibility.
- Recommend a capture strategy for all critical opportunities which will result in the greatest share of the spanet over the long run.
- Prepare bids and proposals in response to solicited & unsolicited RFQ’s.
- Utilize CRM sales data base to update & maintain contacts and bookings forecast in area of responsibility.
- Interface with customers as well as all representatives & internal departments within Microwave Systems Solution.
- Lead efforts in contract review & negotiations, working with Contracts Manager as appropriate.
- Prepare reports on all sales efforts and alert management concerning new spanet potential, results of travel, internal customer attended meetings and competitor’s activities.
- Perform other related duties as directed.
- Participates in establishing booking and spaneting goals to ensure share of spanet and profitability of products and/or services.
- Ensure effective expense control of sales activities to achieve designated budgets within company guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree. Preferred in Engineering
- 5+ years experience in sales and spaneting of defense microwave component, subsystem & systems.
- Demonstrated ability to write professional & effective business correspondence.
- Ability to respond to inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
- Ability to prepare & present presentations and develop articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format including presenting information to top management and public groups.
- Willingness to travel on a regular basis.
- Eligibility Requirement: This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government. Additionally, as a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants selected could be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
