Project Manager

47.00 - 72.57 per hour

Morson have an exciting opportunity to support one of our defence clients as a project manager within the production of marine vehicles. You will be responsible for leading a small team, managing the resources on constantly evolving projects. We need a strong PM Skillset, with experience in defence, aerospace, marine, nuclear, engineering or construction.

The role is being offered on a 12-month contract, hybrid working Is available however because of the importance of the coordination of labour and components, on site patterns may vary over time. There is an opportunity for extension or permanent conversion and can offer the role at a rate 47 - 55 per hour PAYE or 62.02 - 72.57 per hour Umbrella.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the performance and results of the team, using leadership skills for line and resource management.
  • Drive schedule enablement and performance
  • Ensure essential procedures are followed based on your knowledge of Project Management.
  • Exercise full management authority, including performance reviews, discipline and other personnel actions.
  • Ensures essential procedures are followed using Project Management experience. This may formulate policies and procedures within your own area. You will also have an expectation to influence the development of strategy within your own area, including control of resource and policy formulation.
  • Adapts and develop your own project plans to support Critical path recovery and priorities to address operational challenges.

Essential Requirements

  • Experienced Project Management professional with extensive knowledge of project management tools, techniques and practices.
  • Exposure to engineering projects with an electrical engineering element, as either project manager or project support.
  • Able to resolve project-related problems that do not have routine solutions and guide others in doing the same, along the guidelines of established procedures.
  • Understanding of a defence-based Business environment for your own project and team.
  • Recognised as a Project Management practitioner.
  • Professional PM Qualification or years of practical experience gained through application of Project Management.
  • Developed communication and diplomacy skills. Able to persuade and influence internal & external stakeholders.

Desired Requirements

  • University level education or professional qualifications gained through industry.
  • Appointed as an LCM Assessor or Chairperson.
  • Marine building experience, with an electrical background.
  • Awareness of commercial practices in the defence industry.
  • Ability to Control resources and policy formation in wider area of responsibility.

Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will need to be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance before starting on site
