Project Manager, Lean and Industrial Projects
Lead the Site Strategic initiatives supporting Aerospace Manufacturing Operations by leading projects related to improving overall Site performance through Lean Transformation.
Job Duties
- Drive company operational excellence initiatives including Lean, SeeD (Solution for Excellence and Empowerment by Daher) program, and BlueSky (project-based program)
- Develop and Lead site-wide Lean transformation strategies aligned with business goals.
- Serve as a change agent to create a Lean culture across all levels of the organization.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to define the vision and roadmap for operational excellence.
- Facilitate the implementation of Lean tools and methodologies such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Standard Work, Visual Management, and A3 Thinking.
- Train, coach, and mentor team members and leaders at all levels in Lean principles and practices.
- Conduct Lean assessments and identify gaps in current operations vs. desired future state.
- Lead cross-functional improvement projects focused on eliminating waste, reducing variation, and improving flow.
- Monitor project performance, ensuring milestones and KPIs are met.
- Assist with project definition, help establish project goals, objectives, processes and procedures, and direct short-term and long-term planning.
- Create and prepare regular project status reports and corrective action plans to brief leadership on project status.
- Evaluate and promote safety, productivity, and effectiveness of employees assigned to projects.
- Lead and manage your projects based on Daher-specific objectives and strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or other relevant technical field required.
- Three to five (3-5) years of project/program management experience required.
- Lean Six Sigma knowledge or certification (e.g., Black Belt) preferred.
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing preferred.
- PMI certification preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tool suite, including Microsoft Project.
- Ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects through completion.
- Proven ability to work well in an open team environment, and independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to effectively coordinate with vendors, customers, engineers, architects, contractors, and consultants to analyze technical and project requirements.
- Must possess strong decision-making skills, with the ability to consider a broad range of internal/external factors when problem solving and rendering decisions.
- Ability to read and speak English proficiently required to perform the job
