As the Project Manager for Payroll, Crew Technology, you will lead the development, integration, and implementation of strategic initiatives focused on modernizing and improving the pay experience for Delta’s crew. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end execution of the Pilot Payroll and In-Flight Payroll initiatives, including planning, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional coordination. This role requires close collaboration with Crew Resources, Payroll, IT, and vendor partners to ensure timely delivery of features that enhance pay accuracy, transparency, and system efficiency. This position reports to the Manager of Crew Technology and PMO in the Crew Resources organization, and will partner with IT, IFS, FOP, Finance, and the OCC to enable operational efficiency and reliability through the modernization of Crew Technology tools. This effort includes the overhaul of foundational crew systems to enable the next generation of Crew Resources applications.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the Pilot and In-Flight Payroll modernization efforts across business and IT stakeholders
  • Manage communications and alignment across business and IT stakeholders
  • Oversee planning, development, testing, training, and deployment activities for new payroll features
  • Track progress, manage risks, and report on key milestones to leadership
  • Ensure alignment with Crew Resources PMO strategy and enterprise project governance
  • Act as Project Manager of agile development teams that are focused on Crew IT Modernization
  • Develop and manage strategic roadmap and tactical plans for crew technology systems that balances business value, timing needs, funding, and development complexity
  • Prepare Officer level monthly Steering Committee presentations to review initiative progress, accomplishments and constraints
  • Proactively manage multiple workstreams with product owners, business leads, and with IT partners
  • Ensure Crew Resources department and cross-divisional (IFS, FOP, OCC, and IT) coordination and prioritization of priorities, resources, and deliverables
  • Represent initiative in capital planning discussions in coordination with IT and Finance
  • Translate and communicate complex processes to multiple business layers across Crew Resources
  • Develop subject matter expertise for crew related data and systems, including but not limited to data pertaining to crew pay and the rules that govern it
  • Effectively communicate, cross divisionally and to senior leaders, product roadmaps, priorities, and objectives
  • Promote safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Management, Technology or equivalent work experience in airline operations required
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking and styles

  • Minimum 4-5 years relevant work experience
  • Experience leading the planning and execution of large projects from defining scope, goals and deliverables to ensuring project is adhering to timelines and meeting the stakeholder’s needs
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and workstreams at once
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to produce and deliver logical, concise, relevant, strategic documents and executive presentations
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data, identify issues, and develop effective solutions
  • Adaptability and flexibility to handle changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven track record of successfully working in a cross-departmental team environment
  • Must be open to feedback from, and prioritize the needs of, a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Must demonstrate the ability to build relationships and communicate with all levels in the organization
  • Must be performing satisfactorily in current position
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
