Position Summary

The Project Manager System Operations Continuous Improvement is responsible for supporting the System Operations Leadership team in analyzing dependencies that directly affect the business performance of the Systems Operations Center (SOC) organization and supporting departments. The Project Manager will also define and establish mechanisms for monitoring, measuring and analysis in an effort to assist leaders in making continuous improvements in performance via data analytics and evaluation. This position will also provide ongoing support of special projects and initiatives through all phases of the project life-cycle. The Project Manager will coordinate responsibilities across designated support regions and/or will support the leadership team as a whole to meet the goals and initiatives of the company.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Own and drive System Operations projects/programs taking on the highest priority topics
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify individual, programmatic and organizational needs
  • Conduct process improvement initiatives with process owners which include: documenting current process to identify pain points and opportunities, performing supporting data analysis, facilitating the design of the process changes, and supporting implementation of the process change
  • Maintain the System Operations project portfolio, facilitate regular checkpoint sessions to track progress, and support a regular reporting cadence to department leadership.
  • Enable and champion a culture of high organizational performance through partnerships and collaboration
  • Build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision-making within the senior level and peer audiences
  • Support SOC strategic road map for near-term and long-range planning in alignment with corporate and Operations department strategic pillars and objectives.
  • Support Annual Planning and Quarterly/Monthly reporting as assigned.
  • Continuously practice and utilize project management techniques to facilitate the timely completion of projects
  • Liaise with the leaders of Continuous Improvement & PMO (CI&PMO) to ensure consistency and an open common thread with programs, processes, and products; support SOC representation on active cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Assemble and present assessment results and recommendations to department and company leadership
  • Develop presentations and analysis for senior departmental leaders
  • Support business case development for departmental operational needs
  • Build and foster relationships with internal and external customers
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in aviation management, project management, business administration, or other related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
  • Three (3) years’ experience with management and analysis of aviation or safety data
  • Experience researching, analyzing and synthesizing information/data into recommendations, visualizations and presentations
  • Versatile individual, strategic problem solver and doer
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to quickly learn new software through training and self-study
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (20%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test  
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in related field
  • Experience with project management or the development and implementation of cross-functional corporate initiatives
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Working knowledge of regulations, industry trends, and programs governing commercial aviation safety, security, environmental, and employee health and safety
  • Proven application of performance and cause analysis for performance monitoring and improvement

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) and Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $75,000.00 and $118,000.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
