Responsible for leading plant operations in meeting objectives as identified by the Parker WIN Strategy. Implements the division strategy to ensure a safe work environment, maximize profitable growth, drive quality improvements, provide premier customer service, develop a technically qualified work force, reduce operating costs, inventories, and lead times through continuous improvements. Oversee day-to-day activities to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual expectations.
The Dayton facility manufactures aerospace and defense products with an annual revenue of approximately $100M.
Scope/Supervision and Interaction:
Reports to the A&D Business Unit Manager. Directly leads site Production Manager, Manufacturing Engineering Manager, EHS Manager, and Facilities/Maintenance Manager. Provides leadership for all plant employees. Regularly interacts with division and group staff. May also interact with customers, trade associations, and regulatory or government agencies.
Leads and promotes employee safety and health throughout the site.
Grows the site consistently while achieving established financial, delivery, and quality targets. Conducts regular analysis of financial and operations data and works with the leadership team to implement changes as necessary. Develops fiscal year and long-term forecasts and presents them to management regularly. Interprets and shares results in detailed reports, monthly updates, and oral presentations.
Works with division leadership to set the long-term strategy for the site. Leads the strategy deployment process for the site. Leads adjacent functions to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness. Works with Lean resources to fully deploy the Parker Lean System throughout the site. Utilizes PDCA in conjunction with the Site Tracking Centers and Team Improvement Boards to ensure results.
Instills and maintains positive engagement within the plant; holds regular team meetings and assigns team members’ tasks and coordinates support services needed outside the team.
Provides leadership by promoting team concepts, coaching, counseling, retaining, mentoring, training, talent management, and individual development. Drives a culture of accountability and results through strategy deployment and effective performance management.
Travels to customer and supplier sites when necessary as well as other Parker sites to assist/consult with manufacturing practices. Establishes and maintains premier customer service. Maintains familiarity with the competitive environment. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or other related discipline. Master’s degree (MS or MBA) strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead people and obtain results through others typically acquired through ten or more years of increasing experience and responsibility including prior leadership roles.
Strong knowledge of management principles, industry practices, company and competitor products, technology, and service capabilities. Strong knowledge of operational and business processes.
Possesses analytical skills and knowledge of tools to evaluate operations, spanet, and financial data and create forecasts for the business.
Possesses strong facilitation skills and ability to communicate effectively to varied audiences to gain support or resolve issues. Demonstrated ability to make effective presentations on complex or sensitive topics to key stakeholders.
