The role:
This is a 12-month FTC working in our Network & Alliances Team.
At British Airways we are constantly reviewing and refining our approach to planning. This is an opportunity to play a key role in the heart of our Network & Alliances team. Working with our short-term and long-term strategic planners and collaboratively across the business with other stakeholders and experts. We aim to improve the quality and speed of our decision making, generate new insights from our rich data and work together more effectively. You will shape which aircraft we buy and where we fly them, our hub and connectivity planning, the destinations and schedules we offer and the partners we work with.
What you’ll do:
- Implement and refine our capability strategy and hub optimisation initiatives
- Be the business owner for our suite of capability tools, embedding use and driving best-practice
- Help us to exploit the decision support tools we have and develop new tools where you identify a gap or critical need.
- Work alongside the planning teams to support continuous improvement in all we do
- Ensure our tools and data accurately reflect the key internal and external factors and constraints driving decisions.
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
- Excellent analytical and problem structuring skills and ability to deal with messy problems and imperfect data.
- Able to think holistically and creatively to solve multi-dimensional problems.
- Strong communication and inter-personal skills, collaborative working to effectively deliver change.
- Experience in analytical roles with a proven background of delivering analytical developments which improve decision making.
- Experience of business process change and advocacy
- Strong understanding of aviation business, airline economics and the commercial, operational and financial drivers
- Familiarity with complex Airline Planning tools (such as Sabre AirVision) and processes is desirable
Your experience:
- Experience in analytical roles with a proven background of delivering analytical developments which improve decision making.
- A numerate degree or proven numerical aptitude in a similar job role.
- Experience in business process change and advocacy
- Strong understanding of aviation business, airline economics and the commercial, operational and financial drivers of the airline, group and joint businesses.
