Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the metallurgical lab, ensuring all procedures comply with internal and external standards.
  • Lead and manage the metallurgical lab team, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Train and mentor lab technicians and other staff members.
  • Provide technical support for processes such as heat treatment, brazing, and other metallurgical procedures.
  • Conduct and oversee metallurgical testing, including hardness testing, tensile testing, and microstructural analysis.
  • Ensure all tests are performed according to industry standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO).
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure the integrity and reliability of fasteners.
  • Review and analyze test results, and prepare detailed reports.
  • Perform and coordinate internal and external audits, including Nadcap and OEM audits, to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Maintain and calibrate lab equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
  • Recommend and oversee the purchase of new equipment as needed.
  • Work with suppliers to improve the quality and cost of incoming materials.
  • Document all testing procedures and results accurately.
  • Prepare and present reports to management and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a metallurgical lab, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience with fasteners or similar products is highly desirable.
  • Experience in preparing for and successfully passing Nadcap audits, ensuring all processes and documentation meet the stringent requirements of the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program
  • Familiarity with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) audit processes, including understanding specific OEM requirements and ensuring compliance with their standards.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in metallurgical testing methods and equipment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other relevant software.
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP).

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $93,900 to $140,900 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company&39;s medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
