In this role Manager - Electronics will actively participate in Customer and SBU interactions on various programs, plan and manage design of electronic products for aerospace applications, coordinate between engineering disciplines, ensure compliance to industry and company design standards and performance to program requirements, schedule, and cost targets
Position: Manager
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and managerial direction to electronics design and development team to ensure technical and business objectives are achieved on aircraft interiors products
- Manages, develops, and motivates team of hardware engineers to develop products and solutions.
- Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers and direct reports.
- Performs project planning, develops and administers budget, schedules and performance standards for multiple projects
- Manages project technical risks and develops mitigation plan.
- Manages obsolescence redesign projects, operations support projects and electronics design projects and provides guidance to team on handling multiple priorities
- Performs resource planning, analyses hiring requirements, metrics and trends to influence team strategy and performance.
- Performs competency assessment and plans for competency development of team.
- Responsible for conducting annual reviews, performance discussion and regular one on one with the team.
- Improves employee experience, drive retention and DE&I
- Drives process excellence and ensure compliance.
- Leads departmental/organizational initiatives.
- Explores and drives growth opportunities in portfolio.
Basic Qualifications:
- 12-15 years of relevant experience in electronics product development with at least 4 Years of experience in Project and People Management.
- Bachelors/Masters degree in Electrical and Electronics/ECE or Instrumentation
Primary Skills:
- Ability to lead a team of hardware engineers in design, analysis and verification of Avionics hardware.
- Broad exposure to a wide variety of tools- understand purpose and application of tools in the hardware life cycle phases.
- Capability to interface with Software and System team on various aspects of products.
- Ability to find out new methods and processes to approach complex situations in the respective area(s) of expertise.
- Highly motivated self-starter with experience in managing medium size teams
- Excellent problem solving and analytical capabilities.
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
