Are you ready to put your Leadership experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, our Defense Systems Sector (NGDS) wants you to join our team as a Mission Assurance Manager 2. This position is full time, located on-site in Lake Charles, LA. You will be supporting the Logistics and Fabrication Solutions (L&FS) Operating Unit (OU).

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Manage the Quality and Mission Assurance (QMA) organization consisting of QMA Managers and team members across multiple sites and programs.
  • Ensure the Quality Management Systems (QMS), processes, audits, training, and required equipment are available to perform multiple programs’ statements of work.
  • Maintain the highest level of commitment to quality, compliance, and internal controls in adherence to company values and ethics.
  • Develop and monitor site QMS requirements and implement QMA processes aligned to the requirements.
  • Responsible for the implementation and execution of the Quality Management System and AS9100 / AS9110 Certification as required.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and support are in place as required to comply with the site QMS and program quality requirements to include Supplier Quality, NDT, Calibration, Special Processes, Internal Audit, CAPA, Stamp Control, Analytics, Quality Operations, and Quality Engineering.
  • Promote the professional development of the QMA workforce and foster a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value, growth, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide clear assignments, help employees connect their efforts to the bigger picture, create an inclusive work environment characterized by mutual respect and the valuing of differences, and build a culture that motivates employees to reach their highest levels of performance.
  • Establish and implement strategies to drive affordability and long-term improvement.
  • Track and own all metrics related to program quality, provide inputs for monthly reporting as well as present quality results to program leadership.
  • Drive affordability through first time quality and highly effective root cause and corrective actions.
  • Interface with and brief leadership and customers as required on issues, action plans, and requested content.
  • Responsible for timely preparation of proposal BOEs for the QMA team.
  • Regularly analyze alternative courses of action for continued program quality.
  • Establish and nurture excellent working relationships with all Customers both internal and external.
  • Support Return to Green, Failure Analysis, and Corrective Action activities with focus on full resolution and future risk mitigation.

The selected candidate must be a collaborative and effective leader with the ability to influence at all levels and must have demonstrated leadership skills leading multi-function and technical working groups while directly contributing to programs and proposals. The candidate must have a track record in mentoring and developing the skill sets of their teams, and driving change across organizations with successful, quantified business results. The candidate must be able to establish strong, collaborative, working relationships with Operations (Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, and Engineering,) business leaders and customer quality representatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree with 9 years of experience; Master’s with 7 years of experience, PhD with 4 years of experience.

  • Mission Assurance, Quality Assurance, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and/or Program Management experience.

  • 5 years of Leadership experience

  • Extensive Root Cause and Corrective Action experience

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9000 and AS9100 quality management systems

  • Must have an Active Interim Department of Defense Secret clearance

  • Must be able to work onsite in Lake Charles, LA

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience as a Quality Manager or a similar Mission Assurance role

  • AS9145/PPAP Experience

  • Lean Agile and/or Six Sigma certification and experience

  • Experience interfacing with customer and government agencies.

  • Material Review Board Experience

Salary Range: $119,300 - $178,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
