Lead Avionics Electronics Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Avionics Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely alongside the airframe lead and perform hands-on technician duties, serving as the sole point of contact for all avionics-related tasks/issues.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Work closely with the airframe lead and perform hands-on technician duties

Serve as the sole point of contact for all avionics-related tasks/issues

Streamline priorities related to avionics tasks and act as the main avionics technician

Escalate the need for additional manpower to the supervisor if required to meet project deadlines

Complete logs, discrepancies, and/or modification notices

Transport aircraft to designated locations

Install test equipment on the aircraft for ground and/or in-flight troubleshooting or FTPs

Remove and Install LRUs

Perform avionics and electrical preflight inspections

Remove/replace and repair electrical wiring and harnesses per applicable engineering and modification notices

Assist with setting up Aircraft for Elect and Avionic FTPs, launching and recovering aircraft from flight, and troubleshooting pre/post-flight discrepancies

Ensure time compliance equipment is applicable parts of chapter 14 CFR (FARs)

Remove all temporary and protective equipment from aircraft and install final aircraft product equipment

Remove/reinstall aircraft panels in preparation for airworthiness certification inspection and repair post-inspection avionics and electrical system discrepancies as required

Assist with troubleshooting and repairing avionics and electrical systems prior to and after functional tests

Requirements

Typically a minimum of 4 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing aircraft electrical and avionics systems, including 1 year experience working in production flight

A&P or Repairman certification required

Leadership experience highly desired

Working knowledge of Production Certificate System

Engine run certification for a minimum of 1 current production model

Ability to read and interpret engineering documents

Working knowledge of flight-line ground safety procedures

Ability to differentiate between malfunctioning test equipment versus malfunctioning aircraft system

Ability to operate functional test equipment

Working knowledge of safety and operating procedures for power-on aircraft, ground support equipment, and aircraft flight principles

Ability to troubleshoot and repair digital and analog systems

Ability to obtain and renew certifications

Ability to recognize potential electrical hazards and achieve sufficient technical qualifications to acquire product verification certification
