Barnes Aerospace has an exciting and challenging career opportunity for an experienced P&L Leader to lead its Connecticut OEM Operations comprised of Windsor and East Granby – Bradley Park Sites. We are seeking a strong business and manufacturing operations leader to play an integral role in directing and executing the business goals and objectives for achieving profitable, sustainable growth for both locations. Leveraging our business processes and cultivating a high-performance culture through employee engagement and empowerment, the General Manager will lead and ensure the successful implementation of key business initiatives to meet customer expectations by driving commercial and operational excellence, and consistent performance through core business execution.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Full P&L responsibility for CT OEM Operations (Windsor and East Granby – Bradley Park Sites) and provide leadership and direction to both organizations in achieving their performance and financial objectives as defined and aligned on through the Companys annual profit planning process.
  • Ensure the effective execution of the profitable growth strategy culminating in increasing organic revenue growth through developing new customers and expanding product offerings, while maintaining the highest standards of customer satisfaction, performance excellence and achieving increased profitability and margin expansion. Partner with the Commercial Sales team to achieve profitable top-line revenue and market share growth through the effective management and delivery against monthly, quarterly, and annual commitments.
  • Drive achievement of site goals through development and ownership of annual profit plan and longer-term growth plans of both sites. Lead businesses to execute and deliver promised results on a consistent basis - the right way.
  • Operate as a strong team leader and team builder focused on generating results through collaboration, influence and relationship building. Build a passionate and driven management team that possesses unmatched intensity and professionalism who desire and understand “how to win”.
  • Empower teams with a leadership/management style that is collaborative, inclusive, and balanced in approach to drive, achieve and sustain results.

  • Lead and manage the areas of accountability to achieve short-term and long-term business success and required financial performance, successfully defining, and implementing countermeasures to address headwinds and challenges, planned or unforeseen, to deliver on commitments. Plan and direct the overall activities that meet or exceed established performance metrics including safety and environmental stewardship in alignment with the company vision, strategy, company growth vectors.
  • In alignment with the Barnes Values, effectively work with peers to enhance the performance of the overall Barnes Aerospace business. Seek to expand product offerings with existing customers, help develop new customers and expand both sites presence as a strategic supplier.
  • Achieve productivity and efficiency improvements through continuous improvement activities and Lean Manufacturing principles. Ensure the effective management of operating methods, budget spending, manpower/resource utilization and labor efficiency, and material scheduling and capacity planning.

Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of P&L experience in a manufacturing environment in aerospace or general industrial. Prior commercial and sales management experience necessary.
  • Demonstrated leadership effectiveness and ability to manage people. Proven track record of implementing and successfully executing strategies to build and sustain a high-performance work environment. Solid track record of business development experiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate sales, operations, finance, logistics and human resource disciplines to maximize site P&L performance, is a differentiator. Ability to develop and implement performance indicators to continually improve the efficiency and productivity of the manufacturing operations.
  • Must be an effective change leader; balance consistency with flexibility and willing to change ideas in the face of new information. Impeccable integrity; superior interpersonal skills; able to communicate and engage personnel at all levels of the organization. Emotionally intelligent change agent who challenges the status quo and acts with a sense of urgency to drive results. Has strong executive presence.
  • Able to identify opportunities for digitalization/innovation/automation to facilitate continuous improvement and enhancement. Is motivated to think creatively, while maintaining accountability to achieve desired results and outcomes.
  • Views data analytics as critical to decision-making; considers “what the data says” and leverages it to formulate plans and execute on them.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in business management, engineering, or related discipline. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Associates degree with more than 15 years of experience in leadership will be considered.
