The Director of QSE is responsible to oversee the Quality, Safety and Environment functions within the organization in partnership with Operations and Programs.
The lead will develop and implement local programs in line with DAHER global directives to ensure compliance with all quality & safety rules and regulations and to improve the health and safety practices of the company and the quality & conformance of our products.
The QSE director will be accountable for establishing and maintaining quality management practices and performances in accordance with FAA and environmental regulations and Daher objectives.
In addition, this person will continuously assess the effectiveness and suitability of the Quality Management System and recommend, implement, and monitor continuous improvement initiatives.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the entire Quality and EHS organization for the business
  • Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; completing audits; determining systems improvements; implementing change
  • Writes QA process and inspection procedures, maintains data bases for document control and corrective actions and supports regular Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) quarterly audits and Quality Systems Audits (QSA)
  • Meets quality assurance financial objectives by estimating requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
  • Conducts site risk assessments to ensure the right prevention actions are carried out by the different activities.
  • Works and partners with the site Operations team to develop risk mitigation and/or elimination strategies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conducts/facilitates accident investigations, near misses, incident reports and root cause analysis as needed
  • Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures
  • Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training method
  • Quality Management System (QMS) representative to the FAA Manufacturing Inspection District Office (MIDO)
  • Oversees internal FAA Designee functions (Authorized Release Certificates (Form 8130-3), Designated Manufacturing Inspection Representative (DMIR), Designated Airworthiness Representative (DAR)
  • Oversight of Quality Inspection, Designated Inspection and ensure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Defines roadmap for excellence regarding Customer satisfaction partnering with operations
  • Enhances Safety aviation culture and increase awareness and responsibility regarding these stakes and customer expectation

Profile and other information related to the position

Position Requirements:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of 14 CFR, Part 21 regulations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of 14 CFR, Part 21.137 Quality Management Systems or equivalent (i.e., AS/EN9100, ISO9001)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of APQP/AS9145
  • Customer service oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fosters trust, confidence, and followership across the business unit
  • Collaborative leadership skills to achieve desired results in a highly matrixed work environment.
  • Self-directed and able to work productively on multiple initiatives simultaneously and navigate through conflict.
  • Comprehensive auditing skills in a manufacturing and/or regulatory environment preferred
  • Fluently speak, read, and write English
  • Effectively communicate by written or verbal skills with suppliers, customers, sub- contractors, vendors, & across various internal organizational functions to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions where there are clearly defined objectives and functional direction

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related curriculum (Aviation Sciences, Quality, Engineering) or equivalent required.
  • 10 years minimum in quality assurance/control, manufacturing operations experience required., with at least five (5) years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Experienced in managing and maintaining an FAA or equivalent Quality Management System.
  • Aerospace industry experience preferred.
