Summary This is a projects-centered role focused on process improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Competencies required include good critical and out-of-the-box thinking abilities, a hands-on approach to problems and processes, good attention to detail, quick learning, and the employment of excellent time-management practices. This role requires leading lean/six-sigma, process improvement and 6S projects. This includes managing the project’s budget, developing and driving action-items necessary to achieve the project’s goals, coordinating necessary resources (both internal and external), and taking lead on all other aspects of the project. Lastly, the candidate must be able to effectively report on their project(s) status and financial impact to management. Essential Functions The Continuous Improvement Supervisor must coordinate, and lead projects composed of cross-functional teams of engineers, area managers/supervisors, programmers, and shop-floor personnel in both tactical and strategic continuous improvement projects. Types of projects and skills that will need deployment include: Lean/Kaizen and 6S projects Implementation of key concepts, such as Kanban, SMED, standard work, scheduled workflow, etc. Six Sigma Root Cause Analysis Productivity improvement projects and cost-down initiatives Process and Value Stream Mapping Additional Responsibilities - Be able to fill supervisor vacancies when needed.
- Constant awareness and training in safety.
- Enforcing Plant rules and safety rules in “in general Plant and Safety Rule” handbooks.
- Must be familiar with IAM Local 2310 contract.
- Work with Engineering and Quality Assurance to update procedures and improve processes.
- Create and make high-level presentations of both information and data to persons both internal and external of the organization.
- Must be familiar with Oracle shop floor front end and applications.

- High level of experience with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Visio (Process Flow Diagrams, and MS Project)
- Experience procedure updates and creation
- Experience with Oracle systems in manufacturing environments, including Bills of Material, Routings, and Change Management
- Statistical Process Control implementation and analysis experience
Education and Experience A Minimum of a Four-year degree in an Engineering discipline along with at least three years Manufacturing Engineering experience in an Aerospace or similar manufacturing environment. The candidate must be computer literate and have extensive project management and team management experience. Special Skills Computer literacy is a requirement. Ability to interface with any person in the organization. Organizational skills and attention to detail are critical. Reliable attendance and good communication skills are essential.
