Competence & Training Manager

easyJet Airline Company Limited •
Luton, England United Kingdom, International, United Kingdom
Position Type: Permanent
Job Description:

We like to think of ourselves as being a different place to work compared to other airlines. We’re fun, community driven, less formal, and from top to bottom we really look after each other. We also think it’s because of our ‘Orange Spirit’. That means working in teams that are positive, inclusive, united by purpose, ready to meet problems head-on, and that have your back. Whether you’re an industry veteran or just starting out, if you thrive in a team environment then we think we have the best around.

The Competence & Training Manager plays a vital role within easyJet, reporting to the Head of Integrated Management and working under the direction of the Director of Safety, Security & Compliance. The primary responsibility of this role is to design, deliver, and maintain the competency and training processes for easyJet’s management system, ensuring that the company meets its safety, security, and compliance goals. In this role, you will collaborate closely with teams across easyJet to ensure that all regulatory and company competency requirements are fully understood and complied with. This includes responsibilities for regulatory safety, security, and health & safety competencies within the management system.

In addition to overseeing the training framework, the manager is tasked with driving continuous improvement in management system competencies, ensuring that the training library is current, effective, and efficient. The role also involves maintaining up-to-date manuals, procedures, and training resources, as well as producing reports on training status and competency data. You will deputise for the Head of Integrated Management as needed, ensuring that easyJet maintains a high level of compliance with competence and training requirements across all relevant areas.

You should be detail-oriented, capable of identifying key issues, and confident in promoting change and innovation within the organisation. Experience in training design and delivery, communication plans, and familiarity with aviation regulations or safety management systems is highly desirable.

You will have strong leadership and motivational skills, able to engage and influence subject matter experts and line managers across departments. Excellent interpersonal abilities, coupled with proven experience in meeting deadlines, are essential. The role demands a proactive, forward-facing individual with a "can-do" attitude, capable of building and managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
