Job Description:

As the business expands, we are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Cargo Operations Team in Chicago, Illinois as a Cargo Operations Supervisor.

The Role Includes:

  • Ensure all safety measures are taken by operations staff as well as GHA
  • Ensure all staff adheres to optimal use of capacity to maximize revenue whenever possible with on time performance for freighters.
  • Handle customer requirement/request professionally on a daily basis. Assist staff and customers to resolve difficult issues /problems. Reduce customer complaints.
  • Prepare staff roster to ensure proper distribution of manpower and brief staff with relevant changes in the industry and QR products/ services.
  • Support Sales to keep systems updates with operational information
  • Prepare Cargo report when required by Management
  • Liaising with local Ground Handling Agents and with Head Office Cargo Department to ensure/enhance a high quality customer service provided in sales & operational areas.
  • Support import customers for clearance of their cargo, liaise with customs authorities to facilitate smooth and timely import clearance, liaise with HQ DOH and/or origin stations for necessary support.
  • Flight planning with maximum utilization of the flight capacity, control and operation export & import. Maintain a close coordination between QR Space Control and customers by ensuring their shipments are transferred, delivered on time, correct priority given to shipments and for maximum utilization of space on a/c.
  • Weekly, monthly or whenever deemed necessary services reports including preparation system accounting updates on every flight departure.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department. Be part of an extraordinary story

Qualifications

About You - The successful candidate will have the following qualification: 

  • Minimum of High School Qualification with at least 4 years of job related experience within air freight industry
  • Understanding of Cargo Procedures / Acceptance / office / warehouse / ramp / People Management
  • IATA recognized dangerous goods
  • Leadership skills
  • Decision-making
  • Ramp-handling and Load Control of all types of aircraft
  • Loading of cargo freighters
  • IT Proficiency – Word / Excel / Outlook
