ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
The Bid Manager leads new and renewal business opportunities for managed, major, and/or complex solutions. He plays an active role throughout the entire proposal lifecycle, challenging solutions and driving best practices for complex deals, while ensuring SITA is presented professionally and with strong credibility.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Drive all sales activities in line with short- and long-term objectives.
- Validate and manage opportunity qualification across all stages of the public-sector bid lifecycle
- Analyze government and customer requirements to define winning strategies and compliant bid responses
- Develop and own bid plans, leading virtual bid teams and managing partners and subcontractors under senior commercial guidance
- Own and review end-to-end bid responses, assessing delivery, commercial, and compliance risks and driving mitigation actions
- Lead pre-contract negotiations with public-sector customers, ensuring alignment on commercial, financial, and legal terms
- Ensure smooth transition from bid to delivery teams post-award, with complete and auditable documentation
- Secure required financial, technical, and governance approvals in line with corporate and public-sector procurement guidelines
- Provide clear and regular bid status updates to senior management, escalating risks, issues, and dependencies appropriately
Qualifications
ABOUT YOUR SKILLS
- Minimum 7+ years’ experience in Bid Management, Proposal Management, or comparable commercial roles
- Proven ability to manage complex, high-value bids involving multiple internal and external stakeholders across geographies
- Hands-on experience in complex purchasing and/or sales-led bid environments, including vendor/supplier exposure
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience, with APMP Foundation Level accreditation or equivalent proposal/bid management training preferred
- Excellent planning, organizational, and team-building skills
- Proven ability to build and sustain senior-level stakeholder relationships (Senior Manager / Executive level)
- Working knowledge of airport and/or airline operations is an advantage
