Job Description
As an Avionics Program Manager, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of avionics systems projects, ensuring adherence to FAA regulations, budget targets, and customer expectations. This role requires in-depth knowledge of avionics systems, program management, and team leadership to drive successful project outcomes.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in program management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Airframe and Powerplant License or Repairman Certificate is highly desirable.
Experience:- 5-10 years of experience working with avionics systems, including program or project management.
- Proven experience in systems integration and configuration management.
- Supervisory experience managing teams of 10+ employees, with cross-functional team leadership skills.
- Proficiency in FAA regulations, RTCA/DO-178, and RTCA/DO-254 compliance.
- Solid background in managing risk, technical documentation, and FAA-related paperwork and work order processes.
- Extensive customer service experience with a focus on stakeholder communication and conflict resolution.
Key Skills and Attributes:- Self-motivated, with a focus on continuous improvement and ability to work at a rapid pace.
- Strong budget management skills, with the ability to track costs and ensure program financial goals.
- Experienced in Lean Six Sigma methodologies for process optimization.
- Skilled in leading and providing guidance to team members with minimal supervision.
- Capable of engaging directly with customers and team members to resolve conflicts and ensure satisfaction.
Other Details:- Supervision: This role operates with minimal supervision from the General Manager.
- Direct Reports: Supervision of Team Leads and technicians responsible for avionics installation, maintenance, and system upgrades.
- Schedule Flexibility: Regular attendance is required, including availability for after-hours and weekend shifts as necessary to meet program demands.
Equipment Used
Computer operating with Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Corridor (work orders) and scheduling programs.
Desk phone and cell phone and other office equipment.
