DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Welder (Engine Shop)
Department: Ground Power
Position Type: Regular Full Time
Reports to: Ground Power Supervisor
Position Description:
The basic job function is to perform maintenance tasks as assigned. Additional duties include:
· Fabricating stands, racks, and tooling as required.
· Welding aircraft parts when required.
· Repairing equipment and tooling as required
· Following company and FAA procedures and policies.
· Keeping a clean, safe workplace at all times.
· Recommending improvements to increase performance, quality, etc.
· Reporting any problems affecting projects to the Leads and Supervisors.
· Follow instructions and perform tasks in a safe, efficient manner.
· Ensuring that waste materials, oils, fluids, etc. are handled correctly.
· Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
· Prior welding experience is preferred.
· Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Must hold a valid US driver’s license.
· Must have or eligible to get a US Passport.
· Must have the ability to learn and become proficient in the use of technical data, manuals, and specialized tooling and computer databases.
· Must be available for flexible hours and weekends.
· Must have good communication skills.
· Must have a positive and professional attitude and work well with others under minimal supervision.
· Must be a self-motivator and have competent problem-solving skills.
· Expected to have acceptable attendance.
· Expected to use PPE as required.
Language Skills:
· Must have the ability to read, write and understand spoken English.
· Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
· Must have the ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
Physical Demands:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls.
· The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
· Work is performed primarily in a shop environment and maintenance setting. However, at times work will be performed outside in various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
