A leading aerospace and engineering organization is seeking an experienced Structures Mechanic to support heavy maintenance and structural repair operations on UH-60 Black Hawk and CH-47 Chinook aircraft. This role is ideal for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to work in a fast-paced aviation maintenance environment.
Key Responsibilities
Aircraft Structural Maintenance
- Perform structural repairs, modifications, and installations on UH-60 and CH-47 airframes
- Remove, repair, fabricate, and reinstall aircraft structural components
- Drill, ream, countersink, and install fasteners including Hi-Loks, rivets, and specialty hardware
- Conduct sheet metal repairs including cutting, bending, forming, and fitting
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, engineering drawings, and maintenance instructions
- Perform corrosion removal, treatment, and prevention procedures
- Fit, align, and assemble structural components to precise tolerances
Heavy Maintenance & Overhaul
- Support phase maintenance, teardown, and rebuild operations
- Inspect structural components for cracks, damage, and wear
- Utilize precision measuring tools to verify tolerances and alignment
- Assist with major structural rebuilds, bulkhead repairs, floor panel replacements, and frame/spar repairs
Experience Requirements
- 4–5 years of heavy aircraft maintenance experience
- Prior experience on UH-60 and/or CH-47 platforms strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of aircraft structural repair practices and aviation maintenance standards
Qualifications
- Experience in military or civilian aviation maintenance environments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Familiarity with aviation safety procedures and maintenance documentation
