Job Description:

PURPOSE: To deliver quality oversight of aircraft maintenance and external business partners, to ensure that the fleet is maintained to the highest standards, including full compliance with all General Maintenance Manual (GMM) policies and procedures, and the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR).

This position is vital to the safety and airworthiness of our Customers and Crewmembers.

Performs with a “One Crew” and “Do The Right Thing” mentality for Quality Assurance (QA).

 

RESPONSBILITIES:

 1) Participate in the Quality Assurance (QA) internal and external maintenance provider audit programs to ensure compliance with CFR and Company manuals.

  • Participate in the Aircraft Fuel, On-Call Maintenance, Device and Stations audit and surveillance programs.
  • Review checklists to ensure they are accurate and sufficient in scope to cover the areas being audited.
  • Develop and maintain a yearly audit schedule for all internal and external partners.
  • Ensure the accuracy of initial and recurrent audit timelines in the Computer Based Tracking Systems (CBTS).
  • Manage and Maintain Audits and Records in the CBTS.
  • Review Coordinating Agency for Supplier Evaluation (C.A.S.E.) database transmittals for any changes to company approved partners.
  • Assist in maintaining the Monthly Maintenance Provider Listing (MPL) report for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) using the Safety Assurance System (SAS) website.
  • Ensure any Special Audits required per the request of Tech Ops Management, or the FAA are performed on a timely basis.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for QA.

2) Perform the duties of a company authorized Auditor.

  • Become a company qualified and authorized auditor.
  • Receive and maintain a Coordinating Agency for Supplier Evaluation (C.A.S.E.) Auditor authorization.
  • Accomplish all levels of audits as required on a timely basis meeting the timelines in the audit schedule.
  • Document, investigate and issue any findings to the auditee. 
  • Ensure documented finding are returned on a timely basis. That root cause analysis ad corrective actions performed accurately address the finding.

3) Ensure fleet airworthiness by assisting in managing the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Potable Water program.

  • Manage newly inducted aircraft to ensure the potable water disinfection and sampling dates of each aircraft is correctly calculated.
  • For existing aircraft, that the potable water disinfection and sampling process is completed per company manuals.
  • For all aircraft, ensure potable water events are recorded and tracked per company manuals. That they are entered into the EPA Aircraft Reporting and Compliance System (ARCS) on a timely basis.
  • Monitor changing CFR regulations that may affect the Potable Water Program.
  • Investigate any failures or violations that may occur.

4) Develop QA Auditors competencies through initial and ongoing learning.

  • Ensure initial and recurrent training is performed on a timely basis as required by company manuals.
  • Ensure Auditor training requirements as documented in the company manuals are met before performing duties.
  • Suggest further developmental training for the Quality department.

5) Assist in presenting the monthly Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS) report.

  • Help develop, create, and prepare the report as documented in the GMM.
  • Review audit data findings for trends.
  • Recommend items for further research and corrective actions.

6) Participates in the Safety Management System (SMS) Program.

  • Support safety promotion, quality, and safety culture
  • Report safety-related issues to Leadership thru the Safety Reporting system
Requirements
  • Must possess at least 3 years of maintenance or quality experience on different types of large airplanes with 10 or more seats with an air carrier or certificated repair station, 1 year of which must be as a Quality Auditor.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred.
  • Must possess current and valid Driver’s License with good driving record.
  • Must possess current and valid passport for travel purposes.
  • Experience with the management and on-time delivery of daily, weekly, or monthly reports and audits as required by company manuals.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulation and ability to learn other agencies (IOSA, DOD, OSHA, C.A.S.E., Etc.) requirements. 
  • Ability to perform Quality Audits with a keen attention to detail and compliance to procedure.
  • Strong Communication skills capable of working with other crewmembers and Federal authorities.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with an analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex issues to ensure identified root causes and development of corrective actions are sufficient.
  • Ability to provide On the Job Training (OJT) to Quality crewmembers.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, develop relationships and improve compliance. 
  • High degree of attention to detail in both the actual performance of the work being accomplished and in the documented procedure.
  • Foster and develop teamwork and leadership that embraces our company’s “Purpose, Values and Vision”.
  • Must be able to move throughout the office/line maintenance environments for extended periods of time (up to 10-12 hrs/day).
  • Available afterhours (including weekends) to help support airline operational issues.
  • Ability to travel for auditing both maintenance and ground operations stations and business partners up to 50-75 per month. Some months may require additional travel.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environment around aircraft in all climates.
  • Ability to move 20 lbs over a distance of 10 feet
  • Comfortable and casual-dress business environment, with occasional requirement for full business attire for meetings or presentations.

X-FACTORS:

  • Current and valid Airframe and Powerplant License.
  • C.A.S.E. Level II, III or IV Certified.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate. (e.g., emergencies, changes in workload, rush jobs or technical developments)
