PURPOSE:

This position must be designated by the Responsible Level 3 per NAS 410. This position will report to the NDT Engineering Manager. They will be responsible for conducting courses that meet the outlines approved by the Responsible Level 3. They will be tasked with qualification and certification of NDT personnel to NAS 410, and auditing NDT processes and systems for compliance to internal and external requirements. The NDT Level 3 shall be recognized internally and externally as a technical expert in their field. They are to be competent to act as a technical liaison representing PCC as a prime technical contact.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Train, examine, and certify NDT inspectors in the method(s) and techniques certified per the latest revision of PCC&39;s Quality Control procedures and written practice.
  2. Responsible for the coordination of all OJT activities per customer requirements.
  3. Conduct classroom formal training hours as outlined in NAS 410 and QCM 9.1.1.
  4. Create and maintain course outlines that meet NAS 410 and QCM 9.1.1 for NDT methods in which training is conducted.
  5. Evaluate effectiveness of training program to the needs of the organization.
  6. Prepare and verify work instructions for NDT methods to follow customer specification and requirements.
  7. Provide guidance and expertise to Human Resources with regards to the hiring and training of NDT personnel.
  8. Perform system audits on all NDT areas of the assigned campuses and annexes.
  9. Assist in the development of new NDT process and procedures with regards to new technology and customer approval of that technology.
  10. Ensure compliance with customer and government regulations as pertaining to the inspection departments, including ability to interpret codes standards and other contractual documents.
  11. Assist in developing cost reduction initiatives as assigned by the responsible Level 3.
  12. Provide guidance and expertise to sales, engineering and manufacturing on NDT issues with regards to customer inquiries.
  13. Assist Responsible Level 3 as required and directed in all aspects of the NDT inspection program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A minimum of 3 to 5 years aerospace and investment casting experience required.
  2. Certified (or certifiable within 120 days) NAS 410 Level 3 in Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT), and Digital Radiographic Testing (DRT). NAS 410 level 3 certification in Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) or other methods may be required.
  3. ASNT NDT Level 3 certification in method(s) is desired.
  4. Must have excellent communication and analytical skills.
  5. Prior experience in classroom training
