Job Summary:
The Aircraft Seats Designer is responsible for the design and development of aircraft seating solutions that meet regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and industry standards. This role involves creating innovative designs that enhance passenger comfort, safety, and overall flight experience while considering weight, durability, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development:

Create detailed designs for aircraft seats, including structural components, cushions, upholstery, and integrated features.
Utilize CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) to develop and refine seat designs.
Ensure designs meet ergonomic standards and provide maximum comfort and support for passengers.
Compliance and Standards:

Ensure all designs comply with relevant aviation regulations and standards (e.g., FAA, EASA).
Conduct safety and compliance assessments to ensure seats meet industry requirements.
Prototyping and Testing:

Develop prototypes and work with manufacturing teams to produce physical models of seat designs.
Participate in testing and evaluation of seat prototypes, including static and dynamic testing for strength, durability, and safety.
Analyze test data and make necessary design adjustments to meet performance standards.
Collaboration:

Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and certification teams to ensure seamless integration of seat designs into aircraft interiors.
Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and incorporate feedback into design iterations.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for the procurement of materials and components.
Innovation and Trends:

Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and emerging technologies in aircraft seat design.
Incorporate innovative features and technologies (e.g., lightweight materials, adjustable mechanisms, in-flight entertainment integration) into seat designs.
Documentation:

Prepare and maintain detailed design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
Ensure all design documentation is accurate and up-to-date for regulatory review and approval.

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of experience in aircraft seat design or a related field.
Experience with CAD software CATIA, and design for manufacturing.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong understanding of human factors and ergonomics in seat design.
Knowledge of aviation regulations and standards (e.g., FAA, EASA).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Creativity and innovation in design.
Certifications:

Relevant design or engineering certifications are a plus.
