Job Description:

IFT is a Part 141 flight school that provides ab initio flight and ground training, from Private Pilot through ATP ground school to international airline-sponsored students. The aircraft fleet includes: C-172, and Tecnam P2006T. The Maintenance Manager (MM) is the Manager for the IASCO Flight Training Fleet of aircraft and ground support services. The MM is responsible for the facility inventory control, and oversees all aspects of the maintenance facility and coordinates the repair and overhaul of aircraft, engines (Lycoming & Rotax) and components. The MM maintains the inspection standards, methods and procedures by complying with all manufacturer’s specifications, recommendations and FARs. The MM will act as a liaison between its FAA authority, customers, FAA and government agencies and has the final authority in approving aircraft for return to service.  Ability for advancement opportunity for well qualified candidates.

  • Schedules incoming/outgoing maintenance, with dispatch and the operations manager, to keep planes up.
  • Assigns and delegates tasks to technicians.
  • Oversees day to day maintenance using IFT Maintenance Procedures manual and informs Director of Operations of any matters outside of the day-to-day operations, like AOG items.
  • Ensures parts orders are being placed to keep correct amount of stock needed for day-to-day operations.
  • Letting Operations Manager and Director of Operations know of any AOG situations.
  • Letting Director of Operations know if any employee related issues arise.
  • Sends weekly reports to DOO and to parts dept. for aircraft status and purchase requests needed.
  • Oversee work being performed to make sure maintenance is done in an airworthy manner.
  • Repairs, replaces, and inspects aircraft structures and functional components including rigging, surface controls, plumbing, and hydraulics.
  • Reads and interprets manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Examines engines and propeller systems for normal operation and makes adjustments as required.
  • Tests engine operation to locate source of malfunction.
  • Replaces or repairs worn or damaged components such as alternators, magnetos, propellers, ignition systems, fuel systems, etc.
  • Must possess necessary skills to remove engine from aircraft if needed. Inspects parts for wear, damage, defects and serviceability.
  • Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties such as weight and balance, aircraft servicing to include changing engine oil and filters, cleaning screens, lubricating moving parts, and checking brakes.
  • Ensures paperwork is being completed for the maintenance being accomplished.
  • Ensure that the hangar workshops and other areas are maintained in an orderly manner.
  • Maintain an adequate tool kit.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
  • A&P License and I/A certificate are required.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of flight operations.
  • Computer literate 
  • Ability to use and learn software, Resource Maintenance System, Microsoft Office programs and Internet.
  • Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions to facilitate the decision-making process and safety.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with IASCO Flight Training students, management and staff.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work efficiently.
  • Awareness of IASCO Flight Training’s company culture and country culture of the students.

Diverse environments (buildings are forced air cooled and heated), mild/moderate outdoor exposure to dust, pollen, Avgas and other fumes. Moderate to heavy changes in altitude and temperature and heavy exposure to noise from aircraft engines, and moderate exposure to radiation from the sun.

Salary Range: $34.00-$40.00
Relocation: $1,500.00
